So upset my family and I skipped desert at a nearby restaurant in hopes to get some pastries at this place, only to be met by utter disappointment. We hit the road to head home to Orlando immediately after stopping by this place, about 30 minutes into our drive we got into our box of goodies. We handed my son an Elephant Ear, only to have him hand it back to us and tell us it was bad, my wife took a bite of it and told me it was stale, so I proceeded to take a bite as well and my wife was right but somehow understated just how stale it was. About 10 minutes passed and my daughter asked for her Baked Merengue, she took a bite and simply said it was all right (this is a little girl who celebrates every desert she gets). I decided I was going to try one of the Alfajores, so my wife and I grabbed one a piece and upon bitting into it we turned to each other in confusion, she asked me what it tasted like to me, to which I told her it tasted like Fabuloso (for those who may not know, it is a popular cleaning product among Spanish people), she agreed in surprise and disgust. I don't know if these people had an off day, but this was a horrific experience. The remaining of the pastries went straight in the trash as soon as we got home. Had I not been almost an hour into my road trip back home, I would have turned around and demanded my money...
Read moreBeen going to this wonderful bakery since I was about 8-9 years old, I’m 32 now. So that should tell you, I am lifelong fan. This place has so many different things to offer, empanadas, tequeños, pastries, and so much more. My favorite bite is the cachito de jamón (“ham little horn” would be the literal translation). It’s basically a little ham sandwich, but like most sandwiches, the ham is enclosed (the bread is baked with the ham inside). I also love the assortment of cookies they have & their palmiers. Even with the craziness of the economy over the years (and the fact that they are located in Miami Beach) they have managed to keep pricing fair; which I as a Venezuelan appreciate, because most “Venezuelan” spots are usually overpriced. Their staff is always very friendly and gracious, it has a very family run feel. Do keep in mind, there are a small amount of tables to sit at (all high top tables), but even if you just make it a pit stop and take it to go, you will not be...
Read moreIn any and every category possible, Moises is fantastic. There is nothing negative to say about this place. The best coffee, and the gentleman who makes them when we go in could not be more friendly and likable. He knows everything, backwards and forwards about all the pastries and welcomes you sincerely. Other pastries shops that I’ve visited in the past ( that I won’t mention) have items that look delicious in the display cases, but as soon as you bite into them, they are carrying a really unappealing and unusual/ unnatural chemically flavor, like the taste of artificial dye or something, or low quality ingredients? Every single treat we’ve had at Moises has been just rich, natural and perfect and we look forward to our next visit. They’re open pretty late, too. It’s hard to pass by Moises and not go in, when they’re open It’s super clean in there, comfortable, nice atmosphere and really just a great experience every time we come in. Moises- please Don’t...
