El Ammar Kitchen — Restaurant in Miami

I stopped in to El Ammar Kitchen tonight for the first time while visiting Miami on a photo trip, and I was totally blown away by the quality of the food.

I ordered a mixed shawarma platter. The shawarma was seasoned well, possibly marinated, and grilled. The cuts of beef and chicken were tender and of a much higher quality than I was expecting. If they could do this over coals, it would bring peace to the Middle East, and probably the rest of the world. The salad was seasoned simply with olive oil and lemon juice, and the rice was cooked so well that if I had blind-tasted it, I would have easily assumed it was from a Michelin restaurant, or possibly even cooked by God. It made me a believer.

The owner was kind enough to fulfill an off-the-menu request for an order of falafel, which was super cool. I was surprised by how good they were. The falafel had more cardamom with a bit of nutmeg flavor than the versions I’ve had that are heavy on cumin and parsley. It was perfect.

I was honestly blown away by this food truck! I went in with decent expectations, but El Ammar Kitchen completely exceeded them. The mixed shawarma was incredibly flavorful, juicy, and had that perfect balance of spices—honestly, some of the best I’ve had. The tabbouleh was fresh, zesty, and complemented the meal beautifully. And let me talk about the fried pita chips—crispy, and addictively good!

Came here and ordered the chicken shawarma. It was good but nothing particularly special. The taste was good and the garlic sauce was authentic. I didn’t order fries and drink and just got the sandwich. The sandwich alone was $14 which isn’t a very good value. If the whole combo meal was for $14 it would make sense.
