Thank you for taking the time to reply, but I’d like to clarify my perspective as well.
The fact that you consider swapping a same-priced roll “going above and beyond” highlights a concerningly low bar for service. That’s not exceptional — it’s the minimum effort one should expect in a restaurant.
You mentioned I should have raised concerns immediately. The truth is, the server approached the table when I had already finished most of my food. I was hungry enough to eat it, but that doesn’t mean I was satisfied. I did express dissatisfaction when I went to pay (at the front door, not the table), specifically about the price points and charges that were never communicated in advance.
Regarding the service charge: yes, I asked about it, and the server simply confirmed it was included without engaging further. If a guest is questioning the tip, that’s usually a sign of dissatisfaction — which is when attentive service should step in to understand why. Including a service charge by default also raises questions about confidence in your service quality.
The restaurant was empty when I visited. With only two guests (myself and my gf), I expected a higher level of attention and a better overall dining experience. Instead, the basics fell short: the rice didn’t hold together, rolls came undone, and the fish didn’t taste as fresh as it should. These are fundamentals, not extras.
What made it worse was that this was my first meal of the day after being famished, and the experience ended up being disappointing rather than enjoyable. I ultimately felt that my time and money were wasted, which is exactly why I left that review.
This is constructive feedback. Rather than framing the review as unfair, I’d encourage you to focus on why a guest felt compelled to leave with this impression — especially when the conditions were such that delivering great service should have been fully achievable.
I hope you have...
Read moreDecided to try this out after passing by it a few times. I called 10 minutes prior to see if that had any room (9PM) and they said sure no problem at all and to come. Upon arrival the staff had actually already reserved me a table. Now that has to be one of the most welcoming experiences at a restaurant in Miami. Not only did I not even make a reservation, they actually took the time to reserve the table knowing that I would be there in a couple of minutes. Now for the food; tasty, fresh, quick and delicious. Every dish was astounding and exceeded expectation. This is easily my new go to sushi spot in Miami. Dont get me wrong this isnt high end sushi like Mila or Novikov but it is definitely fresh and super delicious and I highly recommend it. Isac and his team were super friendly and accommodating. He took the time to answer our questions and check on us frequently. This has definitely beat out Pubbelly, Paperfish and Moshi Moshi!! 5 STARS! We order so many rolls and they brought it all out on a huge wooden boat. Clever team using presentation to wow us even more. I HIGHLY recommend their specialty Lobster sushi roll which was filled entirely with lobster. Go give this place a try, youll...
