This building is good and bad, not the worst place I've lived, but there was no way I would renew my lease, especially after a $1400 a month rent increase on top of more than doubling parking.
First off, they are super nice when you are viewing the building, everything is perfect. Then they hit you with a $500 reimbursement if you leave a positive review...so basically you can't trust any positive here since its fully incentivized. They attempt to get you right from the start, before you have problems so its harder for you to go back later and update the review.
The good thing is prior to the massive rent increase, I felt the apt was reasonable for the price, at least the inside. The appliances are pretty modern, my unit had a wine fridge which was a nice bonus, nothing screamed luxury, but nothing was cheap either, Id say the apt is average. Oh, the microwave with fan doesn't actually push air outside, so if you cook steaks or anything that creates any smoke, good luck, your whole apt fills with smoke and I had to open the balcony door and crack my front door to get airflow.
One of the worst parts is the soccer field behind the building, If you live on the south side which is literally 50% of the building, you have to deal with refs blowing their whistle at all hours, including Sundays till at least midnight, sometimes it goes later. You would think being higher up would help, but it doesnt, you hear the whistle through the glass, through the walls, and its literally non-stop unless its raining. Also the soccer field has crowds of people and sometimes a band, so be prepared to listen to people screaming at night and on the weekends during games.
My balcony wasn't level, I had like 3 low spots, so everytime it rained, i had puddles that would dry and start to mildew and cleaning was difficult since it wasn't flat, it was textured so a mop just gets torn apart.
The Pool and gym are pretty nice, as expected people trash both. The gym has up to 100lb dumbells which is much better than most apt gyms, has cable machine, leg extension, leg curl, honestly its one of the better apt gyms Ive seen. Pool was always clean, hot tub broke multiple times and was closed for almost 2 months one time but kinda expected since it was during covid and parts were probably difficult to get so can't blame anyone there.
Parking was $50 a month, but with my renewal they wanted $125 a spot which is when AMLI took over management. My parking spot had a low spot in the concrete, so all the nasty water mixed with oil would pool up and I literally had to jump into my car to avoid or park in a spot beside me if it was possible, but the building would not move my spot and warned me that I could be towed if i parked in any other spot...like ones next to me that for 6 months never had a car in them. Not once did anyone clean the concrete in the garage, so it was just covered in black soot almost, then the building complained to residents about the carpets in the hallways being dirty and having to clean them, but I don't see why they wouldn't just clean the concrete since thats where all the dirt was coming from. Also the gate to the garage was broken at least 6 times in the last few months I was there, the building literally had to open the visitor parking on the first floor so residents could park there instead of being stranded.
Front desk isn't really a front desk, its just security so they won't do anything for you, in fact one night they were gone and I was having an event in the event room, I spent an hour opening the door for visitors and uber eats since no one was at the desk.
Rent is due by the 3rd, by the 4th they blast you with a $300 late fee so just put payments on Auto. When you go to move out, you have to tell them 60 days in advance otherwise they threaten to charge you the monthly rate which for me was $4800 a month.
At my original price of basically $2400 a month for 2br, i felt it was reasonable to deal with the problems of the building, at $3800 + parking (new price), not a...
Read moreAbout a month ago, my friend (roommate) and I decided we wanted to move to the Midtown Miami area. We began researching several choices within that area and in the surrounding areas. We scheduled several appointments in different buildings in order to tour their amenities and see their floor plans in person. Midtown 29 was our last stop on the day we toured. As we left the other buildings, we would make a pro/con list to then use to evaluate our options. However, we did not have any cons for Midtown 29. We immediately fell in love with the apartment and wanted to sign right away. We fell in love with the pool and its cabanas, the general areas, and the 24-hour gym. Not to mention that the apartments were beautiful with an open kitchen floorplan, tons of bathroom storage, and walk-in closets. Our leasing agent, Sasha, was patient, informative, and welcoming. She answered all our questions, and went above and beyond by sharing information with us that we had not even thought of asking. My friend and I wanted to apply immediately; however, we realized we were being impulsive as our move-in date was still far off. This past weekend we scheduled some other tours in the Brickell area, and decided we wanted to return to Midtown 29. Thankfully when we returned to Midtown 29, Sasha was there. Once again, she welcomed us and showed us other floor plans they had available for our move-in date. She allowed us to see the apartment more than one time as we wanted to make sure we were making the right choice between the two floor plans we were considering. We decided to apply and we could not be any happier with our decision. Definitely take Midtown 29 into consideration if you are looking to move to Midtown Miami. We cannot wait to...
