My hometown has a large Punjab population and, because of that, I've had a lot of northern Indian food and it's one of my absolute favorites. Of all the places I've ever had, this might be my favorite of all time.
We ordered the chicken Tikka, a side naan, duck biryani, and the samosa chaat. The chicken Tikka was smokey, complex, had incredible depth, and was beyond succulent. The biryani was just.... incredible. It's honestly hard to describe how good it was. The con fit duck was beautifully tender and offered just the slightest gaminess (in a very good way) that paired beautifully with everything else in the dish. Both the rice, as a side and in the biryani, were cooked perfectly. The naan, were do I begin. I'm almost positive that they didn't cook it in a tandoor, but it was still some of the best I've ever had. It was super flavorful and moist, without being overly greasy. Just those alone would have made this a phenomenal meal, but my wife and I both agreed that the samosa chaat was the star of the night and kicked off our meal in perfect fashion. It was savory, sweet, complex fresh, bold, and a billion other adjectives and is one of the best I've ever had. The dough still has an incredible crisp to it, by the time it got to our table, without being whatsoever hard. It was, for lack of a better term, amazing.
The atmosphere and ambiance were also impeccable. I could see myself wanting to come here after a long day of work or for a special occasion. It's just one of the places we're you walk in and feel immediately comfortable.
Our server, Pedro, was also great. He gave quality feedback to our questions, was attentive, and made sure we felt taken care of the entire time we were in. When we first got in and wanted to take our time, he facilitated that. Towards the end, when we just wanted our check and to head back to our hotel, he picked up on that and quickly got the check over, but never made us feel rushed.
All in all, this was one of our highlights while exploring this city and will be a must see destination if we...
Read morethis is a big place and is very well decorated and has good ambiance. we tried their tasting menu that includes 13 dishes. we started with papaya salad and that was very good. samosa chat was average. Raw tuna was surprising as this is not part of any Indian cuisine, complete misfit and also not very good. i guess if you have a restaurant in Miami, you are obliged to serve raw tuna or tuna tartar. dosa was very good and so was crispy broccoli. our main course started with chicken tikka masala that was not really chicken tikka masala but was normal and ordinary chicken curry and so was Kerala Lamb. we had to send Hanger steak back as it was cooked rare. it was good when it came back as medium well. Nan is another story. I am not sure that they have clay oven as the naans they served had grill burn marks. we had asked for crispy naans, and they came out real soggy. we ordered Qorma that was not include in the tasing menu as that is the holy grail of north Indian cooking and not many restaurants offer this specialty. whatever they served was something with beef that cannot be called traditional qorma at all. there was a chunk of meat in some creamy sauce but was nowhere close to Qorma. the story continued with kheer. it had strawberry jam on top. this is not way it is served in any part of India. we were really disappointed as we had heard so much about this place that has its own vegetable farms, and they serve their products and wanted to eat genuine Indian food. In summary, the best dish was papaya salad, and we...
Read moreI went to happy hour with my brother recently had a great time! We ordered several items - veggie pakora, cucumber shake, veggie hakka noodles, chicken tandoori kebab, and saag paneer - all of which were delicious. My personal favorite was the saag paneer, but I would order any of these again 😊 Also, I was extremely impressed by the service here. I was a little hesitant to try this place at first since I don’t like the taste of cilantro (I really wish I did!), so I called ahead to ask about the happy hour menu. The employee who answered the phone was so kind and went through each of the items to tell me which ones did not have cilantro, or had cilantro as a garnish only/that could be easily removed. He also came over later to check on whether I was enjoying the meal. Additionally, our waitress made sure that the kitchen knew about the no cilantro rule, and when she brought out the veggie pakora, she explained which sauce had cilantro in it (my brother likes cilantro, so he still enjoyed it). Even though it was just a food preference, all the employees were so thoughtful and careful about it that I would feel comfortable bringing a friend/family member with a food allergy here! Throughout our meal, our waters were quickly refilled. With tip and all, it ended up being a little over $60. I’d definitely come here again, I’d love to try the regular...
