Ever since Typhoon switched delivery services to delivery.com we have had nothing but problems ordering what otherwise is the best thai food in town. Delivery.com has repeatedly had late deliveries, and on one occasion cancelled our order that was already 4 hours late because they "refunded" the cost and it wasn't worth it to them to deliver it anymore. (HINT: We never got the refund or food).... they frequently don't have drivers to deliver the food and won't tell you until an hour after they've charged your account. When you call their customer service, they frequently are rude and I've even been hung up on by one rep because we just "had to be patient" when our order was 2 hours delayed. This same rep then canceled the order with no refund after she hung up on us.
Typhoon is a wonderful place to eat (in person) but their delivery is just overall not worth the extra cost.
Many of Typhoons entrees and salads can be made gluten free, but if you have celiac always make sure you use your nima sensor to confirm its gluten free, we have occasionally had cross contamination with their crystal dumplings ( but no...
Read moreNOT KID FRIENDLY. Came here before we went to KidCity Museum, which listed on their website that this was a kid friendly restaurant. I already spoke with KidCity about that. Waitress was clearly aggravated that my 2.5 yo was walking around the restaurant even though we were the only people there as we arrived when they opened at 11:30am. Waitress was huffing and puffing that my son was climbing into another booth and sat on a chair at another table. She told my son to go sit at his table. When I ordered our food she was rude. She shouted what kind of meat twice while ignoring that I said I didn’t want certain vegetables (many curry dishes at restaurants are served with eggplant). Didn’t notice their sign till I was leaving that states kids are always welcome however public manners are expected. I took a picture of their sign but don’t see option to post here. Good luck finding a 2 year old who sits still during their meal. Too bad.. I love Thai food and food was good but will never return or recommend due to...
Read moreMy son lives in Middletown and liked this restaurant so my wife and I drove up to meet him there on a weekday evening. Before we could even taste the food we encountered a problem with the service. The young woman who was serving our area did not make eye contact at all, even as she served other people nearby. We kept expecting her to stop and bring water but nothing. I should add that we are a mixed couple and although this happened to us once in the south, we were unprepared to encounter this in CT.
After 20 minutes, our son gets up and goes over to the older waitress serving the other area and she comes over mumbling something about being busy and never even acknowledges making us wait although she had seated us. She had just started to wait on a huge table of Wesleyan students who came in after we did. If my son had not gotten up to speak to her directly we probably would not have been served I guess. The food was OK but the incident left a bad taste in my mouth, no...
