Ceré Tea — Restaurant in Milpitas

I come here almost every day and usually enjoy the drinks, but my experience yesterday and today around 12pm was disappointing.

I asked for banana crumbs on my banana matcha since they really make the drink taste better. However, the lady at the counter only gave a very small amount, and when I politely asked for more, she seemed unhappy and reluctant to add them. As a regular customer, it felt discouraging to be treated this way. Today a different person said that they would have to charge extra, however I didn't see any option for that on the kiosk or online when I place my order. When I asked her about that, I didn't receive any answer.

Overall, I'm not asking for anything that is unreasonable, I'm not asking for free matcha shots or anything of that kind, all it is just banana crumbs.

I would also like to mention that the quality of the matcha itself has gone down since their grand opening. The taste isn't as strong and is much more grainy than before.

To be a DAILY customer that orders two drinks every time and is treated like this reflects the overall goals of the business...

Did cere tea change matcha powders? I haven’t had it in about 3 months and it used to be phenomenal. I usually get the earl grey matcha with oat milk 100% sweet and I would notice the slightest bitterness when drinking but nothing major. I got it today for the first time in a while and I couldn’t even drink it. So astringent and soo chalky even the earl grey syrup can’t mask it. So bummed because I was really looking forward to it. Whatever was changed, change it back please and thank you.

It is my first time going to Ceré Tea’s Milpitas store, gotta say their matcha strawberry is a refreshing delight! The matcha flavor is strong and earthy (anyone knows if they sell their matcha powder separately??), balanced by the tart strawberry – bold and creamy. The kokuto hojicha Einspanner is a revelation. Nutty, toasty, and topped with sweet whipped cream, it’s surprisingly good. Both drinks are expertly crafted and full of flavor.
