I'm only doing 1 star because I have to. This place's host/cashier/server deserves a -10 stars. This place used to have staff who actually cared for their job and serving the patrons that bring it business. It was 21:00 and we had a party of 16. The place probably had 3 tables, party sizes less than 8 people and 2 servers that I saw. I'm standing in front of the host stand, this lady absolutely does not even acknowledge me standing there as she passed me. My cousin had to walk up to her and just asked if it was self serve since this guy just walked in by himself and sat down and got greeted right away. She snapped at her saying she was the host and the cashier and the server and there were a lot of people in line, which there was not. We were the only ones in the waiting area. So we wait a few minutes and she comes up to the cash register. I simply asked if they were just too busy for a party of 16. A simple "Yes" or "No" would have sufficed but she took a moment to answer me, held a finger up and said, "Give me just a moment." I'm sorry, they way she gave off that negative vibe, attitude in facial expression and tone of voice, I didn't want my family eating here. I was going to ask for the manager but felt it was too much work since I couldn't get a simple question answered.
Really disappointed because I used to come at this location with my family decades ago and I really wanted to be here again after so long.
That lady needs to remember that it's her job to greet patron if she's a host. I respect the hell out of my elders but she needs to take more training on customer service and hospitality. She works at Denny's for goodness sake. If you don't love your job, it shows.
We drove to the next Denny's in Fremont and had way better service, got greeted immediately even when they were just passing us by, serving...
Read moreTo start off with the service started off good, got seated right away for 7 people due to a moderate crowd within the restaurant. Service was good but was majority performed by a robot which was interesting for the kids in our group. Food was good, but portions seemed undersized for the price. After the meal I attempted to go to the counter with my 4 yr old cause he wanted to help pay for the meal. The younger person at the counter took out card payment for the meal but when I asked for him to break a large bill so that I could leave a cash tip he stated ok and walked away. He came back and said someone would be coming right now to break the large bill after 10 mins I told the young man nevermind. We hung out in the lobby after paying for the meal while some of our partie members used the restrooms. The manager ran up to us very aggressively in the lobby and asked who needed the change for the large bill. I told him I did but I told the young man to nevermind since it was taking so long. The manager said I thought you wanted change so you can leave a tip, I mentioned, I did but it was taking to long so I told the young man nevermind. The manager got mad, turned around and announced our bill amount to the entire staff and customers sitting in the dinning area then started making rude and verbal remarks in Spanish about our party not leaving a tip. Unfortunately for the manager I speak fluent Spanish despite my looks, so I understood everything he said to his staff and in front of other customers. Not a very good example for his employees to witness a manager verbally abuse Denny's customers. I will find out the manager name and update this post. We more than willing to leave a cash tip until had to wait about 20...
Read moreGot in at 1:30pm on a Saturday, there was about 3 customers in there, 1st red flag! About 3 waitresses fought each other not to sit the 4 of us in their section, I guess it was almost time to go home! Ended up in the most clueless guy in town section, 20 minutes later he asked us if we were ready to place out drink order (he was busy with the only other table with people in it). Fast forward.... got our drinks with half our food 15 minutes later, then another 15 minutes later we got up to get our missing plates that had been sitting ready for a while at the serve counter, no one noticed (cause there was really no one around, no customers, no employees, no nada, lol). Hats off to the cook though, great food! Found what seemed to be the lady mgr on duty outside the dinning area blowing off steam with other employees. asked her for our bill for which she got a bit upset about, then I had to hurry and pay before she could explode! Had to apologize to my debit card for the abuse it took while the lady tried to swipe it a few times, my kids thought she was playing fruit ninja with it!
Great weather that day though!!!
P. S. I'll recommend this place to all my rude customers and inpatient co workers,...
