Terrible Service, Rude Staff, and Unhygienic Restrooms"
We visited Milpitas Buffet today, Saturday, September 8, 2024, during dinner hours when they opened at 3 PM. The experience was disappointing from the start. A long line was waiting to be seated, and a man who was in charge of handing out tickets for guest control began screaming at elderly patrons who were struggling to understand him. Instead of addressing them professionally, he yelled at them, making the entire situation uncomfortable.
After a 15-minute wait (which was reasonable), we were seated. However, our waiter could not understand our simple drink order—two Diet Cokes, a regular Coke, and a glass of water. We had to repeat ourselves multiple times, which was frustrating. The food was actually good, but the service was terrible. An hour into our meal, the waiter came by with the bill and informed us that there is a two-hour time limit on Saturdays and Sundays. No one at the entrance mentioned this, and although we were almost done, it was still an unpleasant surprise.
When I used the restroom, it was a disaster. Graffiti on the walls, pee everywhere, paper towels scattered all over, and no soap in the dispenser. This raises serious health concerns, and the lack of cleanliness was appalling. None of the wait staff smiled or made us feel welcome.
This is our first and last time dining at Milpitas Buffet. No matter how good the food is, the way customers are treated, the uncleanliness of the restaurant, and the lack of professionalism are unacceptable. They earned my zero-star rating, especially...
Read moreOnce we walked in it seemed very disorganized as the servers seating us were in a rush which I don’t blame them because it’s a buffet. There was a good variety of food specifically seafood. Unfortunately most food items were not labeled so we had no idea what we were eating. The environment was very hostile. We arrived around 2:50 and got seated at 3PM. We quickly realized the servers were watching us and everyone in the restaurant like a hawk. They were literally staring at people eating because they were switching from Lunch to Dinner and were trying to catch anyone who took dinner food to charge them more. Personally no one should feel uncomfortable while eating but that’s what we felt because they were staring at our plates while we ate. I have a feeling this is more of a management problem as all the servers were trying to catch people to charge them more. I’ve worked in many food restaurants and was a manager of a bar and grill as well for 3+ years. I believe customer satisfaction is key and priority unfortunately they let us down in this aspect. I tend not to leave reviews but thought people should be aware especially if your dining with them during the time they change meal periods. While they were changing foods they took a lot of the lunch food away which left us with less food options because we couldn’t touch the dinner options as they had yellow signs saying dinner only. You can’t expect to bring customers back if the food options are limiting because your changing meals. Work on customer satisfaction as well as organization and this place...
Read moreMan I don't know what I expected for a 20 dollar buffet. I got in and the guy took his time to help us. When we told him how many was in our party, the guy next to him took his time to get up and bring us to the table.
Onto the food. There is a variety of selection but all the food was okay. There was a whole section for seafood, Chinese food, dimsum, soups, salad, fruit, sushi, fried food, and a Mongolian bbq like grill top. I can only speak on what I've ate.
The seafood section had salmon, muscles with cheese and this cheesy clam shell thing along with another fish. The shell fish was fine but the salmon was cold.
Sushi had a lot of imitation crab meat and was small. There was a roll that was rice and cucumbers. There wasn't any sashimi.
The bbq place was very bare bones. It had beef and chicken as your only option for meat. The noodles were very thick and they didn't have any sauce to accompany them. They drowned it in water and pretty much steam/boiled it on the grill top. Hopefully you can imagine what I'm describing. I was surprised by the taste. It was fine. I thought it would be bland.
There was fried food. French fries, nuggets, chicken wings. I had the wings and it was good. French fries were okay.
I think to make it a bit better, I would've liked some sauce variety. Something like teriyaki sauce or something like that.
When we were done with eating. We had the guy give us our check. He hovered over us until we gave him the card. He came back and again, he hovered over us. He complained about not giving enough tips when he looked at...
