Long waiting line despite having registered on their Yelp wait list. Being 7 in line with a group of 6 people, Yelp told us that it took 45 minutes before our turn, which would be around 6:30pm. The freeway was also jammed with traffic which caused us to go 5m/h. Of course we weren’t worried because we had to wait for 45 minutes. Then, the app notified us to see host at 6:10??! We were really confused, but there was nothing you can do in traffic jam. When we arrived before 6:30pm, we were told that our table was pushed back to the end of the line because we were not there when they called?!!!! Totally confused wait list. You didn’t expect your customers to register on wait list and be there at your beck and call, did you?
The food was great and all. Cheese kalbijjim was good and nice performance. The bibimbab was just average, and the kalbi guksu was misleading. They said it’s sweet pumpkin noodle soup, but none of us could actually taste the pumpkin flavor.
One thing I disliked about them was their indifference in attention. When we left, my child left his toys behind. He was 3 years old and liked putting toys on the table. It was part of our faults for not checking all the stuff before leaving, but we only walked like 2 shops from the restaurant and I already hurried back when he cried his toys were still on the table.
Look what I see? The table was cleared and cleaned up, but none of the staff saw my son’s toys. When I described that they were a pink egg and a brown sea turtle, all the staff denied seeing them. I pursued them please check again because I remembered my son put them on the plate and covered them with a bowl. They checked the trash bin and told us no such thing indifferently, then said you might lost them somewhere else. I was upset!! I saw him playing with the toys on the table. And the toys were not small, either. We left the restaurant unhappy that night. The toys were not expensive but I didn’t like the way they just...
Read moreI've come to eat here three times, and I've only been able to get in once because of the long line. The restaurant is extremely small. It's a good marketing tactic for sure but it would do so well in a bigger space so that the plaza doesn't get too overcrowded.
We had a group of six on a Friday night. One of our friends came to write down our names down and wait for us at 5:30, and the rest of our group was coming at 6:15. Despite our group coming, we were seated at 7:30. By the time we sat down, there were no lines left. We saw a lot of frustrated customers asking the host to be seated, but it was so cramped that I understand things could get chaotic. However though, I wish room was made for us sooner. We saw a lot of bench tables come and go. We were passed on by several parties and ultimately, our first friend waited two hours to be seated. The lack of a waitlist is also frustrating. There's some time for you to enjoy a snack at one of the other restaurants nearby, get boba, or walk around Grocery Outlet while you wait.
Luckily for us, the food was really delicious and made up for the time waited. They take your order before you get seated so that the serving process comes faster. For six people, they gave us four rice bowls, along with two sets of sides. We ordered a soup and a #1 which was just enough for us. We waited for our food for around 15 minutes.
I really loved the combination of vegetables, the meat fell off the bone, and everything was seasoned so that it tasted great with rice. My favorite side was the chives..
Overall, the food was so good but I don't know if I can withstand a wait like this each time. I like that menu is small and they do the...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining at Daeho Kalbi Jjim & Beef Soup, and let me tell you, it was a feast for the senses! We tried the Kalbijjim (braised beef ribs) and the Yukgaejang.
The ribs were the real MVP of the meal! Tender, flavorful, and fall-off-the-bone good. The braising sauce was rich and savory, with just the right amount of sweetness. I loved the addition of vegetables and thick glass noodles, which soaked up all that delicious sauce. Every bite was a delight, and it was hard not to keep going back for more.
The Yukgaejang was a comforting large bowl of beef soup that hit all the right notes. It had a deep, hearty flavor. The thin slices of beef was tender, and the mix of vegetables added a great texture. Perfect for warming up on a chilly day or when you need a little pick-me-up.
We're not that familiar with all Korean dishes, but we do love the Jap Chae (stir-fried glass noodles) , which was not on the menu and the Ban Chan (assorted side dishes). These delightful sides perfectly complemented our main courses, adding a variety of flavors and textures to the meal.
We had requested for our dish not to be spicy, but they still had quite a kick. If you're sensitive to spice, make sure to emphasize your preference when ordering.
The dishes are on the pricier side, so be prepared for a bit of a splurge. However, the quality and flavors might make it worth it for a...
