As my esteemed colleague, Tom Hodson writes, the sesame chicken is indeed AMAZING. Nothing short of a meal to DIE FOR. I mean this both figuratively and literally, as I had to step out during the meal to use the restroom.
A quick note worth mentioning, the customer service is top notch, the man standing on the corner outside of Ping’s was more than accommodating and answered all my questions without any confusion, and the bag he sold me was quite fat, although no doubt it was mostly Fetti. Still, a generous portion served with extreme courtesy.
Now, back to the meal, which I mean honestly and truthfully is to die for. I stepped away from our meal and went to use their restroom. It is kept very clean and well stocked. I finished doing my shot and felt it coming on a bit too strong, but the staff of PINGS were more than eager to help, and for this I will mention again that their customer service is nothing short of exceptional.
When I awoke in the ER, I weakly turned my head to see the table beside my bed, and to my utter delight, there was the rest of my amazing meal, the wonderfully balanced and flavorful SESAME CHICKEN, and no doubt worth a trip back when I graduate out of this treatment facility in 26 days.

Read moreI haven't eaten at a lot of Chinese restaurants in Minneapolis, because when I ate here I didn't want to go anywhere else. As a San Francisco Bay Area native I have had a lot of great Chinese food from China Town. Ping's food is really good Chinese food and great big portions for the price. You will most likely have leftovers. Also if you are a hot and sour soup fan, try Ping's, it has the perfect amount of sour and hot in my opinion and is not sweet which I have had at other restaurants. My girlfriend always gets the Chinese eggplant in spicy garlic sauce and adds tofu and I go around the menu. Today I got the Singapore noodles and it is good curry noodles with lots of veggies, chicken, and a ton of shrimp. I recommend it. Also for appetizers we always get the Szechuan wontons and they come in this dark garlicky sauce and are just very tasty. I highly recommend you give Ping's a try if you are in the area visiting or live downtown or in the Loring Park neighborhood. If you take transit, the 18, 10, 25, 17, and 11 go right by it, and if you take the 4, 6. or 61 get off at 11th and...
Read moreNow, I know what everyone is thinking; "How could you give a Chinese Buffet 5 stars, Tom Hodson?!"
Well let me tell you, Ping's is worth it. Not every dish there is the greatest or most unique, but the sesame chicken is AMAZING. The sesame chicken is SO good that I would drive in from out of state to have it. I literally had 3 helpings. Heaping helpings. Huge, heaping helpings. The atmosphere is open and free. I've read a few reviews here from people complaining that the food was cold, but then promptly say they came AFTER the buffet was closed. Here's a tip: COME AT LUNCH TIME! These people actually CARE about the food that they are providing you! Did anything taste out of the ordinary? SURE DID! THE SESAME CHICKEN WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD! Do yourself a favor: EAT AT PING'S. Specifically, the Sesame Chicken. Three. Huge. Heaping. Helpings. No, I don't work for Ping's. I just eat their delicious sesame chicken. FACT: 9 out of 10 doctors agree that delicious sesame chicken is the key to...
