12/2/23 My friends and I went to the cities for a girls weekend and we found this bar, we got right in and we were having a nice time and one of my friends ordered drinks I ordered a 7/7 when I got it, it was just 7-up so I went to the bar and asked the male bartender to put the alcohol in my drink and told me he already did and if I asked nicer the situation might be different I wasn’t rude and I held my cup up and said it’s just 7-up it’s clear, he then asked the security to the bar and whispered in his ear, before I knew it there were two very large black men standing in front of me I said it takes two of you then it became something about George Floyd not sure why it’s not even the same type of situation except that I’m white and I was kicked out and my friends said there were a few that followed them out also, I actually met the manager Steven when we first got there bc I was standing in a wrong area I apologized and shook his hand and when he approached me and security I said I was just asking the bartender to put the alcohol in my drink and he said sorry if security says you need to go you need to go, I will never go there again. It was a very scary situation that didn’t...
Read moreBouncer knocked my friend unconscious and was laughing about it. On Friday (1/20/23) night around 1:30am my friends and I were leaving the bar and waiting for an Uber. We went to go stand by the bouncers because a group of young men were being creepy. As we were walking away to get in the Uber one of the bouncers said “good luck getting r*ped by them” and laughed. One of us turned and screamed and tried to hit him. The bouncers came after her and ended up punching one of the other girls and she was knocked unconscious for 6 minutes. The bouncers stood there laughing. We went to the hospital and she has a bad concussion from the incident. We have a police report filed as well. I find incredibly disturbing that you would hire someone which such a disturbed way of thinking and lack of empathy for someone was seriously injured. All bouncers should be first aid and cpr certified and be ready to act on that no matter the circumstances. This is not the first we have heard of the bouncers at basement bar saying such foul things to women and unfortunately this has now happened to us first hand. I am begging you to do something about these two bouncers, because they will...
Read moreWomen: this is not a a safe place for you. This place is run by toxic masculinity. Multiple times now the security guards have touched my friends inappropriately. Recently, when my friend was drunk, she was dragged out aggressively by a male security guard. When I told him the way he was touching her was wrong and triggering to her, he quite literally said, “I don’t care.” You would think a security guard would care whether or not a person got home safely when that is their job. Nope. These male security guards are on power trips.
On the other hand, the bartenders are fabulous. I forget his name, but the man facing the dance floor on Fri/Sat is especially amazing.
Btw, the correct way to approach person that may seem drunk is, “how are you feeling?” “can I help you out?” Not aggressively pulling them out of the building and then leaving...
