Good food and very nice staff. Give em a try. After reading through some of the other reviews about Big Guys, I have got to speak up. The customer service is an issue? Really? Most of the adults in the restaurant know both of my girls by name. They ask about my in-laws if they didn't come in to get their usual Friday night pie. They are forever coming by the table to check on us, and/or just to talk. VERY personable staff. The food is fantastic. I have not heard anyone in the restaurant be rude to anyone. Even when some of those people absolutely deserved to get blasted by an attitude, they did not. It seems to me like someone got embarrassed at the counter by not having enough money to pay for the food. And the guy that wants to rant at them for not matching the price from Marco's? They are not a chain. They are a mom and pop, and a dozen times better than Marco's! But in either case, you said Marco's was closed. So if you don't like the price you were given, call someone else. Don't call back and whine about it. Try the food here. Speak to the staff and start a conversation with them. You will leave with a full belly, and...
Read moreI ordered a large two topping pizza which cost $21. I was told it would be ready in 30 to 40 minutes, which seems like forever for a pizza. It must’ve been a newbie making this one. Pizza crust was so thin in the middle, that it fell apart & would not hold the cheese and toppings even when folded in half, yet was about five times thicker on the outside edge. The pizza was mediocre at best, as the canned mushrooms, meatballs, and tomato sauce tasted somewhat bland. Part of my disappointment is that the owners are from New York originally, and should know what good pizza tastes like. I typically give pizza parlors down here a pass if they are run by local Carolinians, as they don’t know what good Italian food should taste like, and have a lack of good Italian food to compare to. I gave it an extra star, as the curbside service was a considerate idea that I’m sure appeals to many trying to remain healthy with the COVID-19 pandemic. I wouldn’t mind paying this much if the pizza actually tasted good. They should put a little more love into it as that’s big part of what good Italian...
Read moreThis place has gone downhill significantly from when we first moved here in 2014. For the price of the food, you'd really expect better. The pizza is good, but it's become not worth paying for it with everything else. The "Italian" food - not so good. They can't properly strain the water off noodles before tossing it in a to-go box to send on your way. We always end up with soggy food. The customer service is severely lacking as well. Seems like the place is now primarily left to teenagers who obviously have something better to be doing than exercising responsibility. Gotta love being met with attitude or a server with the personality of drywall when you go in there. Love supporting local, but this has just become blah and not worth it. At least the Marcos delivery guys are always pleasant.
The other reviews here talking about the bad customer service.....pay attention to those. If CS isn't a deal breaker for you, then no big. But if it is, yeah, Big...
