Appearance wise, this cafe and its food is very appealing to the eye and smells great inside. The young woman inside was very nice and helpful though they did not have the French Toast donut which my party was anticipating. Anyway I got the donuts I ordered and went outside with my family and realized very quickly, I forgot to get napkins, so I went back inside to get napkins. There was a different lady, an older Woman, stature of a Manager or the Owner; Who was no at the front donut display at the beginning of my experience. I asked her for some napkins and she was very reluctant to give me some. I immediately felt categorized or rather discriminated. After the interaction that was paused she snapped at me “have you ordered anything!?” And I told her I ordered 2 minutes ago and got my food. She didn’t say anything but carried a snotty look on her face. After this experience I will not be ordering food here anymore and suggest any tourists of ethnic background to choose a different breakfast/cafe in Moab, Utah.
On a side note: Donuts and Cronuts looked very appealing, but the icing crust was a bit too thick for my liking. The cronuts/crodough I’ve had in my past were a thinner glaze and were delicious, and these were cold, dry and seemed a day old or not made within the past few hours. I ordered my food at approximately 8:07am on this day...
Read moreThis is an interesting place. After finding out about this donut shop on Instagram I thought it would be a good visit. I have a few complaints: Upon ordering I noticed that the music inside was blaring, keep in mind it was 7 am when the store first opened. The music made it really hard to order and it felt like I had to yell just so the worker could hear what I wanted. Second, the doughnuts were good but honestly after eating two I felt sick. I believe it was from the amount of grease. Don’t get me wrong, the flavor is good, but they seem extremely greasy compared to what I am used to where I live. Finally, after paying for the doughnuts, I looked at the receipt and realized that a $5 tip had been added. I do not remember them asking about this or seeing a sign/notice that tips are automatic or encouraged. I do not have a problem with tipping when served, but all they did was put doughnuts in boxes and then rang up my order. Personally, that is not worth a $5 tip. If a tip is suggested or mandatory I believe you should be able to choose or at least be...
Read moreWe were really disappointed. We got 6 donuts and a chicken sandwich in medium spice. Salted Caramel Cronut- this was probably the best and still the edges were hard in an over cooked/stale way Vanilla Old Fashioned- dryyyyyyy. Old fashioned are my typical go to. I love the edges and the glaze. This one, I took a bite and couldn't take another because my mouth was so dry. Vanilla glaze- the donut itself had no flavor, like Wonderbra Maple Glaze- same issue as the Vanilla PB&J- This was carried by the jam. That was the source of flavor. It did have a lot of filling but it wasn't balanced. Now for the most disappointing Nutella- there was ZERO Nutella flavor. It tasted like chocolate pudding. My husband said it tasted like hot chocolate you can get from Dennys or something.
Onto the chicken.... the breading was crispy BUT we got medium and it was bland. The donut bun was fine but turned into nothing on the bottom because it was soaked. We'd had Pretty Bird in SLC earlier in the week and hoped it would be comparable...
