Mediocre tourist trap
The pros: Staff was friendly and nice, fantastic service. It’s a really cute restaurant and I love the atmosphere
The cons: Food was average at best. There was nothing wrong with the food, there was nothing great about it either. Eggs Benedict was very conservative with the hollandaise sauce. It’s nothing to write home about, a standard chain restaurant would have served something at same standards if not something better at a dollar or two cheaper. Fresh orange juice means it fresh from the carton from the local grocery store, it’s literally mass produced name brand orange juice.
While atmosphere and staff are fantastic, it does not make up for the overpriced and “competent” food. It’s an illusion meant to sucker tourists, a show with all flash and no substance.
My recommendation to the restaurant: Don’t advertise “fresh” juice that is store bought, everyone can see the staff pulling out the containers from the fridge, there is not even an attempt to hide it. Don’t skimp out on the hollandaise sauce. Drop your prices unless the quality of food actually earns it.
My advice doesn’t matter because the cute restaurant will make oodles of money because of location and tourists who consider Olive Garden as fine premium dining.

Read moreWe have eaten here a few times over the years during Easter Jeep Safari and this week Rally on the Rocks. Until today everything was good. Today we sat in the back where the staff puts up the clean silverware, glasses and coffee mugs. We watched the same bus boy wipe his hand across his nose, blow his nose and pick his nose the entire time we were there and each time right after pick up clean silverware to put on tables, put clean glasses away and pick up coffee mugs...all clean. Not once did he walk away to wash his hands. After seeing that I took out antibacterial wipes and cleaned all the silverware on the table before we used it. When the food came one of the omelets had tomatoes in it, we asked the waitress to have a new one made. She very nicely took it back to the kitchen then brought it back out and told us the cooks said they were peppers, not tomatoes. So we picked out all the tomatoes and had her take it back to show the cook what a tomato looks like. We asked to have it taken off the bill as by then we didn't want another scramble. We never got the side of bacon, salsa or butter that we asked for and the short stack of pancakes came when everyone was done eating and plates had been cleared. Sad that one really bad experience will keep us from...
Read moreJailhouse Cafe - Overpriced and Disappointing My family and I had a terrible experience at Jailhouse Cafe. For a whopping $100 for four people, we expected much better. Here's a breakdown of why this place deserves only one star: Language Barrier: Some of the staff struggled to communicate in English, making ordering and asking questions difficult. Cramped Seating: The booths are packed so close together, it's clear they prioritize profit over customer comfort. We felt like sardines. Subpar Swedish Pancakes: While the pancakes themselves were decent, the compote was a major letdown. It was hard on top, like it had been sitting out for ages, and tasted more like a cheap, overly sweet jam. Gross! One redeeming quality: The hot chocolate was excellent. Overpriced: $100 for a family of four is way too much for the quality of food and service we received. Avoid Jailhouse Cafe unless you're only there for the hot chocolate and don't mind overpaying and being crammed in...
