The stay here at this hotel has weighed heavy on my heart and I have to speak up.
Gist: I had to rush out to take my kid who was struggling to breathe to the ER, and Diego was cruel about my card flashing red and showing an error.
It takes a special kind of self centeredness to roll your eyes and start shaking your head at a person who said they need a new room key because just took their 4 year old to the ER while on vacation staying at your hotel. Let alone to keep shaking your head while you walk over to the computer and slam the keys to wake up the machine, while yelling ROOM NUMBER at me. Diego, I didn’t have a problem sharing information with you, like you made it out to your manager when he came around the corner. In fact, I already had shown you I would do that willingly when I asked for a key for the pool the night before, which you knew because you said “didn’t I already make you one yesterday?” Still shaking your head. Yes, you did, I was very polite and respectful when I asked. BUT I DIDNT FORGET MY KEY THIS TIME. IT WAS FLASHING RED WHILE MY HUSBAND HELD MY SICK CHILD AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS.
back to the night before at the pool, Why would I take my wallet to the pool if my husband and son were there waiting for me? None of the other hotels had locked pools. And since I left my wallet in the room, I was stuck, I couldn’t get my key. And instead of treating me with decency when making me a new key, you failed to inform me that it would make all other keys stop working.
My cards didn’t work because of the confusion YOU CAUSED, Diego. I didn’t forget ANYTHING. My husband was at the top of the stairs with my son who was sleeping on his shoulder after being discharged, and his key was showing a red light. We should have been able to enter no issue, but you took an issue with me for some reason, the only reason I got from you is that you made me a pool key. I do not know what is going on with you but I ask these three things. 1) please do not speak to another guest in that tone or use that body language, shaking your head, slamming things. It’s disrespectful. 2) please at least pretend to have compassion when someone tells you they just got back from the ER on vacation especially for a child. It’s common decency. 3) please learn that yelling at people over and over, doesn’t get the desired results. When people are disrespected, they want to address that. You don’t just get to yell ROOM NUMBER over and over to make someone go away, when they are asking you “why are you treating me this way?” You don’t do that to anyone, at any time, customer service, personal relationships, bosses, It’s disrespectful, it’s not courteous and quite frankly, of course I was going to ask you why you were behaving this way towards me. And instead of addressing the conflict and looking for resolution, you just raised your volume. When the manager came around , it seemed like a dispute over the room and name, but you know it wasn’t. You know you were acting poorly towards another human being and it ended poorly because they asked you, Why?? What a shocker. I’ve been coming to Moab for 20 years. This was a 10 year anniversary for us at the park, now returning with our son to make new happy memories and the er trip was bad enough. Please do better for future guests. And you acted like a coward to my husband after, not even able to make eye contact. That...
Read moreI had the worst experience staying at this place. Like everyone else, I relied on others reviews before booking this hotel. But Let me tell you, the hotel reception and staff are literally thieves. I had a horrible experience on 30th may 2024. I had returned from moab utv tour and was talking on phone when i had taken off my sunglasses and hat in the lobby area. After a brief period, i had left for my room. But i forgot to take my oakley frogskins (sunglasses) with me to the room. Within 15-20 mins when I came down looking for it, they were gone. Now here the whole story starts. This aged lady named “saka” is there at the reception. I asked her courteously and other staff at he reception about my sunglasses. She said she doesnt know about them and tells me that most probably someone has flicked it and since no one reported it to the lost and found, she is not aware of it. But she kept on saying , i am here till 11 pm and you can keep checking with me if someone drops them off or finds them. So in the meanwhile i checked my room / the pizza place and others to see if i had lost them. But no luck. That same day, i requested here the cctv footage of the lobby to her, which she completely denied and even the other lady who was in charge completely denied access to cctv footage saying we cant give which got me suspicious. So the next day : 31st may : morning 10 am i went to the front desk and asked for the cctv footage request to the manager in charge. This lady was quite helpful and i really appreciate her for letting me in and see me the footage from previous day. And Bingo : I took a look at the footage and to my horror : that same lady name : “saka” had flicked my sunglasses from the table i left them within 10 mins of me leaving to my room. When confronted with the manager , she could not do a lot. I told her you can clearly see in the cctv footage that your employee saka has stolen my sunglassess but she said will talk to her but no help !
I want everyone who is booking this hotel : pls pls dont book it and be careful with your belongings. The hotel staff are literally THIEVES !!!
On the day of checkout :31st may 2024, I asked the manager and SAKA, about the cctv footage and to my surprise she could not even look me in the eyes. She stole my brand new sunglasses worth $150 !!!
Definitely dont recommend this place to stay ! Whats surprising is even after confronting her and showing the proof in cctv footage : she chose not to admit it. What a lady !!
May god bless her for her Karmas !
Poor hotel Poor staff bahaviour Poor experience
Think twice before booking this...
Read moreI'm in a unique situation with hotels. Where I feel it necessary to included all observations I make about it's ADA accessibility. For the most part the hotel was very accessible, I appreciated the size of the bathroom, that a shower chair was provided. However my biggest gripe is that the ADA rooms I saw, and the one I was in, was quite a distance from any entrance. Not ideal for people who are wheelchair bound and don't have the best arm strength. It was frequently exhausting for my partner to roll himself, which he prefers to do if he can to maintain a feeling of independence. Though I was very pleased by the number of handicap parking spaces. I'm not sure if there were enough to cover each ADA room available, but it was plentiful and never had an issue parking in one.
As far as other aspects, lets start with cleanliness. The common areas were well kept, and most of the room. However given COVID protocols, I was not happy with the room. I found used tissues in one of the bedside stands, and trash in one of the dresser drawers. I know house cleaners aren't given the a lot of time to process a room, but it took me 30 seconds tops to quickly open each drawer in the room. Maybe excusable before Covid, but not anymore.
When it comes to breakfast, it was really hit and miss. The hot options were very limited, with the eggs being overcooked. I would've liked to seen more hot drink options then coffee available at all times (such as packets of hot cocoa mix). My biggest gripe is with the waffle stations. There are only two, given the size of the hotel that's just not enough. You can easily be waiting 15 minutes just to use the waffle station, which really isn't great if you want to make the most of your time in Moab.
My biggest gripe for the entire stay was security. From limited experience with two entrances, they were never locked at any hour, requiring keycard use. There were keycard slots, but they seemed to have disabled the feature. The door facing the wheelchair parking was actually missing a latch all together, you could see the gap between the door and the frame where the latch should've been.
If the rate was lower I might have overlooked most of this stuff. But nearing $500 for two nights, in the middle of October, I expected more out of it. If you can find a really good rate deal, I recommend it. If you can't, skip it, and look at...
