I came to see Analog Missionary play at The Listening Room in Mobile, Alabama this evening. (05.25.2019) I had to call the owner Jim and set up my reservations for the show a few weeks in advance. He was very courteous, easy to work with, and seems genuinely dedicated to having a straightforward, band oriented venue that caters to enjoying the show without people getting crazy. The venue is small and very intimate, so any band you might catch her will feel very personal. The show was just that personal and intimate. Thanks for keeping the dream alive Jim.

Attended for the Wheetus show and had a blast! The venue was a little unusual in the sense that you purchase a general admission ticket, but then you're seated once you arrive. Since I only bought one ticket, I was assigned to the "singles pew" which was honestly the best seat in the house! Not only did it have a great view of the musicians, I had space to get up and dance during songs that inspired movement. Only other thing to mention that I wish I'd known before going is that the beer is cash only, but there's an ATM next door.

Fantastic little venue in downtown Mobile!!! If you enjoy music, this is the place for you! Very nice and tranquil setting with excellent acoustics! Every first Monday of each month, they have ‘Open Mic’ night which has proven to be a great time for musicians and listeners alike! If you are ever headed to downtown Mobile, Google ‘The Listening Room’ to see if they have anything scheduled while you’re here. It will be well worth your time!!!

I had the same experience as one other reviewer. I went to hear a favorite performer of mine, and she was as lovely and talented as ever. However; the owner of this place was a bit overbearing and chose to use the performer's mic to publicly berate the audience; some of whom were talking more than he preferred during the performance. There were far better ways to get his point across than what he did. He should stay away from the mic.

While I understand and applaud the goal of a peaceful and respectful listening venue for talented musicians, this man ensured that it was not....including some trumpet player in attendance who decided to act as the owner's proxy in berating the audience as well.

So...instead of a relaxing and welcoming venue, I ended up feeling unwelcome and I left early. It ruined my listening experience. Ironic.

I can hear this lady sing in many local venues. I doubt I'll be back...

I went to The Listening house aka The Peoples House on Saturday night, the host of the establishment is a very nice guy. We went to listen Sugarcane Jane. They were absolutely fabulous. That being said the only problem that we had was that the venue was booked solid, which is great, so the room was very heavily occupied and they put people right up to the stage. Unfortunately by doing that we couldn't see the performers. I was only able to catch a glimpse of his left hand playing the top of the guitar. I think if a little stage/platform so that it raises up the performers off the ground so that everybody in the venue could see and enjoy. This does not mean that I will never go back because I had a very very good night and appreciate the owner getting great talent for...

I actually didn't review your establishment. I don't know why my Google account has me linked to this as I have never visited or searched the name of your business. The only way I even remembered the name to get me to this page is because someone just sent me this link regardind your reponse. I can only assume either someone else did this as a joke or there something with my new cell I don't understand. Im leaving toward a google glitch as I now see i have apparently reviewed six other places that i have never been and also assigned 1 star. Regardless it wasn't me who reviewed your business. Sorry to burst your "poppin'...
