My group of friends decided to come to this establishment to celebrate one of the girls birthdays. It came at my suggestion as Iâve been to this bar several times and enjoyed it completely. The atmosphere is super cool and the speakeasy concept is one that I think is very unique for Mobile. My friends and I arrived around 10:30 (an hour and a half before they closed which was confirmed by our server) and received great service from our server (who only provided exceptional service and made the birthday girls experience great). Unfortunately, once we had a first round and had been talking amongst our tables, a drink was accidentally spilled. The group attempted to clean the spill as quickly and quietly as possible and had to ask three times for a towel to be brought to our table so we could clean it. Everyone in our group had only had one drink and it was very clearly an accident. We were very apologetic and thankful for the young lady that came to help us. After the spill was cleaned (still 30 minutes before close) the bartender motioned at our table and made an overt gesture to cut us off and no longer serve our table. The entire table was made up of those who work in the service industry and it was very disappointing to see employees of a nice and well respected establish treat us with blatant disrespect. It was very obvious that no one within our group was intoxicated and the result of a simple mistake was the cause of embarrassment for our group in front of the entire establishment from those working. I do not know that I will be returning to this establishment, which is very unfortunate as I have been several times and have recommended it to countless people. There is absolutely no reason guests should be subjected to public embarrassment given that the bartender is no longer interested in serving drinks within operating hours. Very disappointed and I hope staff with consider guest experience in the future as itâs obviously...
Read moreMy wife was looking online for someplace to get a bite to eat, Las Floriditas caught her eye and we decided to give it a go. If you donât know, Las Floriditas is a bar with a Cuban speakeasy theme. They have a few Cuban style specialty drinks and bar food items on the menu. When we looked Las Floriditas up we missed that is wasnât a full menu restaurant but we decided to have a drink and try a couple of the food items since we were already there and it seemed like an interesting place. Upon arrival, we were greeted by âRosaâ the doorman/bouncer who eventually let us in despite my not being able to find the password that youâre supposed to provide. After sitting down and perusing the menu, I decided on a the Legendario Mojito which was delicious and strong enough to put a grin on my face. My wife had the Las Floriditas Daiquiri which she thought was only okay. We were starving at this point so decided to order some food. We started with an order of the Fried Plantain Chips which were no more fancy or interesting than the Goya chips you can get at Publix, $6. I ordered the Barbacoa Sandwich and my wife had the Picadillo Bowl. Both items were tasty but nothing to write home about and certainly not authenticate. Think Cuban inspired rather than authentic Cuban food. Overall, it was a fun experience but a bit over priced in my opinion. Two drinks, two entrees, a bowl of warm Goya chips and the well deserved tip left me $85 lighter. Iâm not afraid to pay for good food and service but Las Floriditas seems to charge slightly more than it delivers. If youâre looking for something fun to do, you want a decent drink, something to nosh on and your money âainât funnyâ, Las Floriditas could be a solid choice but I wouldnât make it my first choice...
Read moreMy husband and I LOVE the experience! Iâm from Puerto Rico with Dominican and Cuban family and this place is legit with Cuban food and beverage. From the beginning that you get there is exciting. You have to say the password to get in and then the secret door opens; something of a movie. The waitress was so nice, she knows her menu and helps you if you are undecided to what you might like.
I donât think you can go wrong with any of their drinks, they are delicious! My most two favorites were: Piña colada: Wow! This place has the right flavor of a piña colada with the texture of an ice cream.
Viva Cuba Libre: oh my gosh! This was so refreshing perfect for summer
The food is RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING!! Everything taste so fresh, it took me back to the island. If you are looking for real cuban food, this IS the place. The âMojo Porkâ was my absolute favorite dish. Ray, they chef, did such an amazing job in his cooking, is the perfect and right Cuban seasoning. We had the privilege to meet him and I felt proud for his success in his career learning the food of other cultures the right way.
With deserts, I would say the guava flan is the real deal! Itâs the perfect texture and so good; is definitely their specialty. The coconut tres leche is also really good.
They also have live music starting at 8pm and...
