Last night we had my nephews birthday at Alfys in Monroe. As we were leaving I discovered my daughter misplaced her lovie (aka her comfort item she has had since she was born). I asked if the person cleaning the room saw it. She didn’t respond so I asked the man at the counter “ has someone turned in a little dog looking blanket” he looked in a drawer and said no. I went back to the room and looked through the trash. On my way out I asked the man for a manager. He said it was him and I got his name (Sebastian). I said “could you help...” he interrupted me and said he had more important things to do then look for a stupid stuffed animal and that i needed to leave. I literally was asking if I could leave my number in case they find it. I then asked for the owners contact number and he said it is corporate owned and I needed to figure it out. My sister then went in to look for the lovie and the man told her I called an employee a “stupid Mexican” and that she needed to leave. Never in my life would I ever say anything of the sort about anyone, that is not me! It shocks and sickens me that I was accused of something so awful. I am just a mama looking for my child’s toy. I have never been treated so terrible by anyone at an establishment. So if anyone sees this lovie at alfys tonight you would make a little girls...
Read moreI have NEVER Been so upset! We are here at Alfys Pizza in Monroe, this very moment and have been treated absolutely HORRIBLE!! We have been coming here for years & have never experienced something like this!! Anywhere in that matter!! We were here for a bday party, after the party one of the kids lost her special stuffed animal. Her mom ask an employee if they found it. The employee ignored her. So the mom went to another employee who didn't want to help either. After the mom expressed how important the stuffed animal is the young man Named Sebastian told her to leave. Then accused her of being RACIST!! She Would NEVER!! I went to take my children to the bathroom, after we came out of the bathroom, the mom of the birthday party was telling me what happened (as our children are now playing the toy machine) Sebastian comes over & tells us we have to leave!! He lied & said he called the manager but yet refused to let us talk to anyone in charge. Yesterday I was here with a family friend for 3hrs & no one was rude to us or asked us to leave. We give this establishments so much of our business. Even my daughter & the bday boy's school does so much business here! We will not be returning without speaking in person to the owner & definitely will inform the school of our experience...
Read more2023 UPDATE: Alfy's has improved significantly!
There is still quite a lot to fix at Alfy's, but more has been accomplished in the last 2 years towards that end than in the previous 20. If you order correctly, you can get a very good pizza here. Chances are, you will get it on time and with friendly service. There are even bargains to be had, though nothing that compared with the value of their lunch prices in the old days.
If you were like me and had pretty much given up on Alfy's, it might be time to give them an eighth chance. There's a very real possibility you will be surprised.
On the Portney Scale (everyone knows the rules), 7.2.
Alfy's used to be fantastic. But over the course of the last 20 years, the quality of their pizzas has fallen dramatically. Alfy's is still a decent value if you order their pizza for lunch, but what good is a bad pizza at a discounted price? I long for the days of the top-notch ingredients and consistently good pizza that Alfy's used to deliver. Those days are no longer. Too many compromises have ruined what used to...
