AOE is welcoming and family oriented, you feel like you are at home, with good people, training and good vibes. Coach Chris is very thoughtful, skilled, dedicated to your personal success, he demonstrates his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by helping everyone in his team to build the necessary skills and mindset for growth on and off the mats! He welcomes everyone to come try it and helps them individually to practice the techniques taking time to ensure students practice safely and build the understanding through drilling and repetition, and carefully selected methodologies that build you up for the main technique of the class. Each class begins with stretching and warm ups, & standup wrestling/judo/takedown drills to build a solid base of understanding of movements to take the fight to the ground and using the jiujitsu techniques to control and win on the ground, or standing. The biggest thing that differentiates and cannot be duplicated is his passion, skill and methods to drilling moves each class to perfect timing and technique that helps each student make improvements fast and effectively. AOE has helped me improve so much in just a few days and I’ve been training for close to 6 + years and I already see a lot of progress in my mindset and skills. Come try it out for yourself and experience the joy of the Art of Entanglement.

Read moreMy first No -Gi class training during my first holiday to the USA that surprised me in so many ways with a professional instructor and creative class structure.
The warm up was a mixed of dynamic fictional yoga/animal movement that reminded me of my training with an Indian Kushti/Freestyle wrestler training when he came to train with my team in Singapore; which is great for mobilising the joints, strengthen the ligaments and muscles while keeping the heart rate at zone 2.
It was followed by 2 rounds of stand up hand fighting exercises/drills then we jumped right into end positional games (guard passing, back mount) and then we jumped right into sparring
All that happened in 2 hours.
I love how everyone had a learning & training mindset keeping the games light and fun.
Would love to come back again when I’m in town. And I the instructor is only a blue belt who just got promoted. He did a great job transferring the structure from the head coach Chris. And if they didn’t tell me in the beginning he’s a blue belt I would have thought he was a seasoned purple based on how he led the team.
Lots of love from a little Singapore...
Read moreStarted my jiu-jitsu journey at A.O.E. about seven months ago. From the first phone call, I knew this place had something different. Coach Chris, who answered, came across as genuine, knowledgeable, and approachable. He’s outgoing, family-oriented, and completely authentic—no B.S. or false promises here.
The academy itself has a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to stay motivated. The higher belts are incredibly supportive, always willing to lend a hand and share their expertise. The sport of jiu-jitsu has a way of drawing you in, but it’s the people here that truly make you want to stick around. Many of the students, including the head coach, are active competitors who train and succeed in some of the most prestigious tournaments. This means you’re learning from experienced practitioners who truly know what it takes to excel at the highest level.
Whether you’re looking to compete, enroll your children in the kids’ classes, or simply get a great workout, there is something here for everyone.
Highly reccomend you come and check out the culture and community at Art of Entanglement. It’s a...
