Arthur Murray Dance Studio Monterey — Local services in Monterey

I signed up for dance lessons for over $500 and it was not a comfortable space. I don't feel like I was allowed to learn at my own pace, I feel like the lessons were rushed, and I feel like part of it was my dance teacher was pushy. I received multiple text messages pushing me to come to different lessons multiple times a week. I am a parent, I am employed full-time and, I should be able to choose when and at what time I have my lessons since I am the one paying for them. It should be a way to relax and unwind, instead of another thing on my to do list. I understand that dance is something that you have to be consistent and dedicated when learning, but if you are not exactly comfortable yet with your body and that type of movement, you should be able to decide at what pace and frequency. I've stopped going to lessons and as expensive as these lessons were, it felt more uncomfortable being there than it would be losing that money since I was already told it was not refundable.

To be honest, to anyone that is trying to start a New Year resolution or explore a possible passion, I do not recommend...

We are so happy that we found this studio!! They very much care about their students success! They create a fantastic environment to learn in. Seriously! From the moment you first walk in, the instructors are TOP NOTCH! We are doing the wedding dance program (several classes) and they are phenomenal! Our AMAZING instructor, April, is very caring and patient with us. She is an excellent communicator and is very warm and encouraging. She easily breaks down the concepts of dance routines, moves, styles, and choreography into a beginner friendly format that makes everything feel natural. She has worked with us to choreograph a beautiful dance routine for our wedding song. This studio is affordable and has FANTASTIC instructors such as our instructor April! You cannot go wrong coming here, you will be taken care of to the highest degree and will leave feeling accomplished and motivated to dance. We sure do!! Again, check this place out whether you are a beginner or a professional dancer. What are you waiting for?...

About 30 Years Ago, Josh Told Me He Didn’t Dance. He Said Only On Very Special Occasions… I Was Devastated. I Love To Dance!! A Couple Months Later While At A Wedding, Unchained Melody Came On And He Asked If I’d Like To Dance. He Stepped Out Of His Comfort Zone For Me! I Was Over The Moon!! He Danced Once With My Mom And With Our Bella Lenzini Any Time She Asked. On Our Star Trek Cruises, He Apparently Felt More Confident And We’d Dance More And More With Each Cruise… I’d Drive By The Studio And In August, I Decided To See What Arthur Murray Had To Offer For Just Me… They Asked If I Had A Partner. I Said, “Yes?” I Called Josh And He Cautiously Agreed To Meet Me For A Lesson. He Tried To Give The Instructors Reasons Why He Couldn’t Dance.
