Sweet Reef Boba + Taiyaki Morro Bay — Restaurant in Morro Bay

I was looking for coffee nearby and saw this place had that and Taiyaki! So I had to visit it. Hands down, Sweet Reef has the best boba in SLO county! The first time, we got a Vanilla Latte and a Strawberry Matcha. The Vanilla Latte had the perfect balance of sweet vanilla flavour without losing the good coffee taste. I asked for a less sweet taste on the Strawberry Matcha and I loved it. The second time, I got a Brown Sugar Matcha with boba and asked for a stronger matcha taste. I was not disappointed! The drinks taste so good, the boba is super chewy. We also tried the Cheddar Cheese, Cookie Butter and Red Bean Taiyaki. They were all good, but the Red Bean Taiyaki was my favourite in flavour. The dough was just a little bit too dry with the Cookie Butter combination. Shout out to Rola and Ayten for their excellent service. They made the drinks exactly the way we wanted them, we got our drinks super fast and they were very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Will definitely come again next time...

I have been a loyal customer since this place opened 2 years ago. Everything is so yummy & delicious on the menu. The drinks, the vibe, and the taiyaki are immaculate. And not just boba: hot + iced drinks, milk tea, and taiyaki fillings are also customizable. Highly recommend. Nice local spot that hits the spot. Friendly staff. A must try if you're in the area!

You can expect to easily spend $6 on their medium sized (smallest) drink and a couple (2) taiyakis for $5. Their taiyakis are the star of the show and their hand crafted drinks are essential to get. Very small shop, it was very warm inside, smelled musty, and only a few bar stools to sit inside. Nice staff. One of the drinks we got had a cracked cup, guess they didn't notice when handing it to us. It leaked everywhere and I let them know to which they transfered into a new cup quickly. I'm a boba lover and our drinks tasted watered down, not much flavor. Boba wasn't brown sugar as poster claimed, they just tasted like regualr boba. The boba was chewy and soft. They forgot about our tayaoki so we waited a bit longer than expected. Tayaoki was just ok, nothing like the ones from Somi Somi. Batter texture...
