501 at Néné's - Takeout — Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

My girlfriend and I tried this “seafood” spot on New Year’s Day after visiting Myrtle Beach for New Year’s Eve. My girlfriend came across the restaurant and was eager to try it because she had been wanting good seafood from North Carolina for months. Not only did we choose this place because of the rating but also because it’s black owned. After patiently waiting around for them to open at 2pm we arrived back to the restaurant to place our order; in which we were very excited for. We both ordered the #2 Low Country Boil both the “nene sauce and classic seasoning”. After placing our order around 2:05/2:10pm we waited almost TWO HOURS, we received our food around 3:50. Throughout this whole process I was very patient because I know they’re a new and upcoming restaurant. However, once I received my food we proceeded to dig in although I noticed the food looked nothing like the pictures. Within eating the FIRST SHRIMP my food was uncooked. Shrimp was uncooked, potatoes were not “boiled” long enough and sausage tasted artificial. The best thing on the plate was the corn. I immediately contacted the restaurant and was told to return to get another boil. We then waited for almost 30 minutes, in the midst of waiting I decided to go inside the restaurant to get an update of time left. From the register I saw what should have been boiled shrimp in a skillet being cooked. Food seems to be steamed or cooked in a skillet and has no boil flavor or concept to it at all. The food seems like a perpetrated image of a seafood boil. I tried to have patience with the restaurant because I had personally connected with the owner(the husband). I left extremely disappointed... to wait 2+ hours to receive uncooked/under cooked food and then to have it remade to see it being cooked in a skillet. The complimentary pound of shrimp did not make up for how bothersome my visit was. OHHHHHH I forgot to mention the seafood eggs included in the boil. The shell was still on it and the seasoning on top. VERY DISAPPOINTING ! We ended up stopping at cook out for a meal before our 2 hour drive back home. I thought about returning and giving the restaurant a second chance but I’m going to pass on it.

Btw we ended up redoing our on boil once we made it home. The clump consistency of “their sauce” was not eye or taste appealing. We used a boiler, Louisiana crab & shrimp boil seasoning and revamped out food. Wasn’t worth...

I’m disappointed. I spent $71 for a overcooked and sitting crab boil. The food looked grey. The juice and seasoning literally looked like grey water! Like it’s been sitting in a pot all day. The egg looked gross, I couldn’t even tell that it was an egg until I opened it and the yolk was black! My crab leg was missing a leg and the inside looked disgusting, the sausage was tough and it just looked gross!! The fried fish was falling apart from its skin but the inside of it was good though, that was the only thing that was alright but overall, I was disappointed that they would serve me something like this. I’m from North Carolina and I didn’t realize what my food looked like until I got to my destination, I couldn’t call because the phone was off! Maybe I caught them on a bad day but at least the lady who served me was nice and the restaurant looked well kept and clean. That’s the only...

If I could give this zero star than I would. I ordered a #3. & #5. The #5 sauce was watered down. Our eggs were the pre boiled eggs from out a store. We got Food lion crab legs. They cut up 2 small corns to make it look like we had a lot. I ordered extra sauce and I didn’t get it. When I called the establishment the young lady acted as if she didn’t know what order I was talking about. I hung up on her. I’m from Virginia. We canceled our reservation at Ruth Chris to get a black owned experience than to give them our money. We took an L on this one. Plus we paid $102.00 bill for this mess to receive dissatisfaction. I will NEVER order from here again. Could’ve went somewhere else and spent less and better service. Thank you for taking my money and bad service...
