To start off, don't be afraid of this place because it's in an Alley. It's in the name, so they are owning the location and do a WONDERFUL job doing so. The bartending staff treats you like family and constantly engages you in whatever else is going on at the bar. It's the sort of place you want to tell your friends about, but not your friends friends because then it wouldn't have the same feel. Their happy hour for alcohol is generous. 2 for 1 until 7pm and the selection is gratuitous and bountiful, you will not be let down. Even on the normal days, you'll feel as if you are hanging out in your best friends basement (the loaded friend, but not the free-loading one) enjoying brews with family. One of our favorite places for drinks downtown.

Alley Taps is an absolute gem tucked away in the heart of Printer’s Alley, one of Nashville’s most historic and vibrant neighborhoods. It was nice to get away from the chaos of Broadway and still get some beers and live music. One of the best things about Alley Taps is that it’s a great escape from the summer heat and busy streets outside. There's plenty of seating and it feels like an old basement dive bar that's been around forever. The live performers here were fantastic. The beer selection is solid too, offering a nice range of local craft brews and classic favorites that pair perfectly with the vibe of the place. Great spot to chill out for a few hours away from the summer heat!

Stumbled upon this joint as I was getting ready to turn in for the night. The sounds of groovy, jazzy neo-soul carried me through the door. I happened to go on the Wednesday night Neo-Soul Jam Sesh taking place. I ended up staying here a couple more hours, in awe of this unique experience. Musicians, young, old and everything in-between, took turns going up on stage and just jammed out. Being a musician myself, I enjoyed every minute of it. These cats went up and just improv-ed and grooved with each other. This place also had one of the best craft beer selections I found while in Nashville. What better combination could you want?

Lots of great reviews for this place. But I must have gone at a bad time. We went for happy hour and it was buy one get one free, we ordered a double (recommended by our bartender) and it was weak. But still we were looking forward to the food that had mixed reviews.

We ordered the nachos, the breadsticks witch cheese, and the buffalo wings. The prices were about right for Nashville, it was $40 for three appetizers and 2 drinks. But we wouldn't spend our money here again.

The food was pretty rough, the breadsticks were yummy, but the nachos were from a bag and the sour cream came pre-packaged. The wings were not bad, but definitely nothing to brag about.

Basically think of this place as cheap bar food and cheap drinks.

The service was interesting. We weren't sure whether to seat ourselves or order at the bar, we found out later that you ordered at the bar. That was all fine until we went to a table and we weren't sure whether they run it over it or not, my husband noticed it had come out and was sitting on the bar for about 5 minutes, so he went up to get it. He was told that they usually run it but we're busy.

Overall, I would only come back here to listen to the music or escape broadway for a cheap drink. We weren't able to listen to the music, but the line up looked pretty solid. You can see the line up in the...

Local Nashvillian here. Alley Taps is one of my favorite bars in downtown Nashville, and I frequent it often. I hardly ever write reviews, but my horrible experience last night has left me no choice. When I requested my favorite beer (Bearded Iris Homestyle, which I get there EVERY TIME), the bartender behind the bar pointed at the hand-written draft beer sign and rudely said, “These are our drafts. There’s no Homestyle.” Disappointedly, I said, “Not even in a can? Bummer. I always get it here.” Her condescending response? “Well, I’m the GM of this place, so I’m the one who orders the kegs. I make that call.” JEEZUS. I opted for a different IPA and gave her a concerned look. At the end of the evening, she yelled at my coworkers for standing too close to the end of the bar and berated us. She had the choice to ask us to move kindly (and we gladly would have), but she was very rude and aggressive. A passing patron witnessed the exchange as he was walking by and said, “Wow, what’s her problem?”

In summary, the atmosphere, music and “most” bartenders are 5 stars. The GM, Amy, gets 1 star. She should take a lesson in manners before she’s given the authority to run a bar. I will continue going to Alley Taps, but patrons beware of...

I think normally this would be a fun bar, however, my friends and I were very disrespected by a bartender named Julie I believe, could be wrong, but was tall and had bright red hair. I am newly pregnant and was the designated driver for the night lol and the bartender proceeded to have an attitude when I said I wasn’t drinking and then talked behind my back and told everyone that I needed to “get the f out” when I went to the bathroom, my friend calmly brought it up to the other bartender and just said we wanted to close out and leave. Julie came over and started SCREAMING at me and took my water glass and threw it at the wall, as we were getting up to leave she proceeded to tell us to “get the f out” and was throwing other drinks and stools. And in my personal opinion she seemed very intoxicated.

Like I said, I’m sure normally it is a great place but I will say I have never felt more disrespected in my life. The other bartender was kind and willing to try and help until Julie got it out of hand. Every other person in the bar including one of the employees left after seeing how that bartender treated us because of how discriminating and disrespectful and just plain ugly the...
