Barista parlor used to be my favorite place for coffee however, I think the quality has gotten much less consistent (I have had a number of drinks recently that were not good at all) AND the prices have sky rocketed far beyond any other equivalently fancy coffee shop. There is now a $2 additional charge for OAT MILK. I'm sorry but, you can buy an entire container of the very nice barista oat milk (I used the same brand they do at home) for $4.10 (I just looked it up on Amazon to confirm- and I would image most baristas buying in bulk get a discount beyond that)- this will get you quite a few more than just 2 lattes.
If you get a flavored latte with oat milk, this is now a $9 latte at barista parlor- SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than any equivalent coffee shops. And for one that is only good a bit over half the time now...not worth it at all. Other coffee shops in the area using the exact same oat milk brand are charging a 50 cent-1 dollar surcharge.
Really disappointed in both the price changes and the quality...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe heart of my review needs to be on the coffee, which was truly great. Artisan thru and thru. The sole barista did a good job of juggling the register and the coffee. Though, the crowd was slow. I appreciate that drinks were prioritized on both on first come first serve, but if a black coffee was ordered those drinks were served right away.
If I had complaints, it would be the music. The music provided an unwelcoming atmosphere. Perhaps there is something to that, get people to mozy. Though, it wasn't working as the tables were all taken up by folks slaving over their laptops. Its frustating to see a single person command an entire 4-top, but that's a battle I think the coffee shop would want to take on. Though, if you are looking for a place to drink and sit, this is probably not your spot. There is a decent amount of seating, but only about 50% is usable because of patrons using the shop as their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBarista Parlor espresso is usually top notch. The experience at this location is lacking. I was at a competitor but the line was too long so I came over to BP looking for a for-here cortado and some quick food.
Barista Parlor has serious food supply issues. Iāve experienced the same in Germantown and the golden sound location.
The barista explained they only had a few food items and they were instructed to only use to-go cups.
I went back across the street and stood in the longer line which actually went pretty fast and was eating a full meal and enjoying a hot well-made cortado in a glass cup.
Barista Parlor needs some attention. I had previously considered it a top 2 espresso destination in Nashville, but itās...
