Burger Republic — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

We were in Nashville for an appointment and figured it would be a good time to give Burger Republic a try.

We arrived shortly before they opened and waited outside at one of the tables until it started raining and we went inside to wait. They sat us promptly and gave us some time to check out the menu.

Lots of burgers and such to choose from but we made up our minds...I ordered the West Texas Burger with Tots and my wife ordered the West Coast Burger with House Chips.

Our food came out pretty quickly as the place was starting to get busy with the lunch crowd.

The brioche buns on both burgers were so soft and fresh.

My wife's West Coast Burger (minus letter & tomato) was, as she said, delicious. She said it was just like the smashburgers we make at home on our Traeger with the Griddle Hack insert. I stole a few House Chips from her and it made me wish I ordered those instead of the tots because they were really good.

My burger was delicious, not quite as spicy as I thought it would be with the habenero cheese, jalapeno slices, and spicy BBQ sauce...but the meat was nice and juicy. Pressed (not smashed) thin so it got all the carmelization crispness on the edges. Was a little let down by the tots because they're just tots...I was expecting some housemade tots, but hey...it is what it is.

We finished things off with two shakes for the road. I ordered the Assassination By Chocolate while my wonderful wife ordered the Salted Caramel. Both shakes were delicious. I am a huge fan of all things chocolate and this shake did not disappoint!

Great spot and a great location for all those people lined up down the street to get a picture of themselves with the big wings! Highly recommend. Would love to say we'll be back, but we try to visit different spots when we're in Nashville...but, again, it's definitely a spot you should try if you're looking for a tasty burger after walking...

I came into the city to have an afternoon date with my husband. The service was good. The waitress was attentive and I had no problem with the service received. However, let’s talk fooooooood. The good good.

I ordered the west Texas burger with tots, a side of the fondue and a soda water (cause I’m frufru and can’t drink flat water). My husband ordered the ahi tuna salad. The ahi tuna salad was a huge disappointment. The tuna slices were huge chunks and poorly seasoned and prepared. Not to mention there was no care in handling the tuna itself (it was cut against the grain, the pieces were way too thick and poorly seasoned). The dressing was basically Mayo and for being 16 dollars the portion was shockingly small. Not necessarily the tuna but the salad portion. Just poorly executed. I totally understand ordering a salad at a burger joint is like ordering a burger at a seafood restaurant but don’t have it on your menu if you can’t deliver.

We were also charged 6 dollars for soda waters. Normally this isn’t a huge deal but for the quality (or lack of carbonation) and no flavoring, that’s a lot of money for hardly any overhead.

My burger wasn’t bad. The onion straws were forgotten which was a disappointment but we had already waited a long while for our food while others around us received there’s first (we were there before them) and another up charge for a side of the fondue sauce.

Honestly the best part of the experience was the tater tots and fries. Everything else felt poorly executed. Maybe I picked the wrong burger but the experience was underwhelming. I feel like if I can make the food better, I’ve...

The reason I am rating this so low is mainly for the service we received. I went with my husband to Burger Republic this past Thursday, June 17th, to celebrate his birthday. Our waiter, Donte, was extremely slow, constantly disappearing inside. Each time we needed him we had to wait for at least 20 minutes for him to show up, and the place was not busy at all. In addition, Donte was very unknowledgeable about the kind of beers they served, when we asked about any local beers they served, his answer was "we have many", instead of making recommendations and suggestions. However, worst of all, he deliberately overcharged us with the bill. He did not give us an itemized check, and when we were about to pay, we realized the he was charging us 50% more than what we have actually consumed. My husband asked to see the itemized check, and after another very long wait, Donte came back saying that he removed the extra items from the check, lowering the amount to what we actually consumed. We found all of this very sketchy. First of all no itemized check, so that we wouldn't see the extra unordered items on the bill. Secondly, not even an apology for their "mistake". The pictures I am attaching to this review will show the itemized check that was brought to us after we complained with the two extra items that were wrongfully added to the check circled. On the next picture, the actual amount that we spent. I would like to warn other costumers, but most of all, warn the management about this employee working for them. I'm so glad we caught this before having paid the bill. Needless to say, we left no tip...
