Let me start this review by saying after our amazing dinner, we got up and made reservations for Sunday brunch before we left! To begin, the cocktails were amazing. So creative. Try the ‘Delores,’ it will be your new favorite Summer drink. We shared the smallest Seafood Tower; it was the perfect amount for two people. The oysters are a must try, along with the Smoked Fish Dip and Tuna Tartare (so fresh)! As far as appetizers go, we tried the Duck Arancini (the cane mustard was a great touch) and the Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Cauliflower in a chili vinaigrette: perfection! The Kale Caesar salad is a must order - the charred red onions are lovely. Also, the focaccia bread is served WARM with warmed olive oil drizzled on top! Love it! From my server, Bridgets, recommendation I tried the Mahi which was perfectly cooked. She also recommended the Tuna Fusilli with homemade tuna sausage which my sister ordered. We were uncertain about tuna sausage but it WILL BLOW YOUR MIND! A MUST TRY! Ask your server for recommendations, ours was spot on and made great suggestions. Bridget was attentive but not hovering and so pleasant to talk with. She gave great insight on the restaurant and the city of Nashville as well! Last but not least, dessert! The ‘Strawberry’ was so cool! It comes with ‘Strawberry Glass’ that you crack on top of sorbet; it’s just a fun experience! The ‘Cookies & Milk’ are also killer. This is my first review on Google Reviews because I felt like I had to share my great experience! Everyone needs to run into Marsh House!
Brunch and Baked Goods go together in my book and Marsh House has got it figured out! The Cinnamon Roll and the Creme Brûlée Croissant are both AMAZING. I bought extra to bring home for my family. We shared some type of Avacado Toast that was perfection. It had a light lemon yogurt that just made the dish so light and crisp. I had the Marsh house Omelette and added ham; cooked perfectly. My sister had the Shrimp and Grits and said she’d never had better grits in her life. I will be back to try the pancakes, our new friends at the table next to us had the Bananas Foster pancakes and they looked divine. Next time!
All in all, everything was lovely, starting with friendly hostesses to a great server, to two perfect meals! Will definitely be back! Thank you...
Read moreI dislike writing bad reviews but there are experiences which must be documented to encourage the establishment to improve the patron experience. We opted to eat outside and were seated in a less crowded area of the patio. From the start I noticed that the table beside us had finished their meal and were looking around for their server. About 15 minutes in, a server made it to the other table and we flagged her down to get some drinks ordered. Although she had been serving the other table next to us, she made it clear she could get our drinks going but she was not our server. She indicated another server would take over with taking our meal requests. Another 15 minutes went by and no drinks or our mystery server had appeared. Once again I managed to flag the same server down and asked her about our drink status and said we wanted to order oysters. She went to check on our drinks and brought back an oyster card to fill out. Again she said a server named Jake would be our official server. It seemed a bit odd that she had served another table in our area and was kind of helping us, but she still insisted she wasn’t our server. I think management could have done better training here. Obviously our meal was going downhill and the server could have made a decision to actually be our server and right the course. Our drinks started coming out one by one, delivered by a different server who apologized for the slow drink service because there was only one bartender. I’ve worked bars and it’s usually standard procedure to get orders filled at one time because people tend to want to enjoy their drinks at the same time. It’s just a much more pleasant experience than sitting there with your drink while your party stares longingly at your beverage. Anyway, we were there for over an hour before we got our oysters and full round of drinks, and we never encountered Jake, our official server. We opted to bail on dinner and went to another restaurant for our mains. The Marsh House patio was comfortable and cozy, but they were obviously have a bad night. There didn’t seem to be any management...

The menu at Marsh House is a seafood lover's dream, featuring freshly-shucked oysters and expertly prepared southern seafood dishes. The charred oysters were the star of the show! Our server, Emma, was spectacular. We shared our concern about gluten sensitivity for my wife, and the chef and his team came through with an amazing creation: grilled shrimp over perfectly cooked patty pan squash!
