The 404 Hotel — Hotel in Nashville-Davidson

My last email to this place!!

While I appreciate the $250 credit, I feel this is not acceptable for the environment we were subjected to during our stay at the 404 hotel.   We only stayed here for the duration of our reservation so that we wouldn't have to come out of pocket to stay elsewhere.  Although, I will say, we were very tempted to just leave and eat the cost of another hotel.   The 404 hotel is grossly misrepresented on your website compared to the actual property / amenities.  Our stay was extremely unpleasant, and we were disgusted by the lack of cleanliness and care to this place.  The fact that we couldn't even get a response to fresh towels being replenished or heat being fixed led us to not lodging other complaints as it appeared it would have fallen on deaf ears.

This hotel was extremely disgusting.  So much so that other members of our party decided to leave early or not stay at all!!!  I've photographed everything, and I'm happy to provide photo examples upon request.  Carpets not cleaned or vacuumed,  Coffee Pot still had old coffee in it from previous stays, Nespresso machine had K cups in it and looked like it hadn't been cleaned EVER.  Filter needing replaced on another appliance on the counter.  No "to-go" coffee cups as pictured on your website or coffee as referenced.  No trash emptied or sheets changed, no fresh towels provided for anyone on our 4 days there.  Heating elements look like they have never been cleaned, rust and dust everywhere.  The keyboard and mouse for the computer look like they've never seen a Clorox wipe.  Stains and marks all over the walls, chairs, and couch that are worn and tattered.  Shower heads that are so covered with mildew they barely work.  Sink fixtures are broken or missing parts.  Toilet handles that must be jiggled to get the toilet to stop running.  There is no weather stripping around the front door, so cold air just blows in continuously.  No mention of the front entrance being the break / storage area for the adjoining restaurant where the workers take their smoke breaks.  Smoke just rolls in through the door with the cold air, so the living room area smells like smoke.  Website shows the front entrance as nice and open with a table and chairs for seating outside. However, this area is full of boxes and supplies for the restaurant and used as their break area.  So unless you want to sit outside with them while they smoke, you can't use it.  No mention of room 2 being used by the adjoining restaurant and hearing the workers / their music at all times of the day and night.  Room 4 backs right up to their restaurant, so you get to hear them prepping for the day as early as 630am through the bedroom wall.   The parking lot isn't actually private, and when other people park there, nothing was done.  We had to figure it out for ourselves on how to get our vehicle in / out due to no mention of having to access the 404 hotel parking lot by entering through another business parking lot which doesn't appear to care if their patrons block our entry / exit.  Pictures on the website reflect nice fixtures / amenities, robes in the bathrooms, ample towels on the beds, you know, they look bright and welcoming.  Unfortunately, they are not a true representation of this place.   Most of the reviews online are from 4-5 years ago, and maybe, at that time, this place was nice and clean and well maintained.  Now, it just appears as if it were forgotten about and given up on.  The lack of cleaning / service to this place is astonishing.

We stayed in a constant state of COLD and disgust / aggravation while we were here.  We in no way feel the cost of this place was anywhere worth it.  So, before I submit a claim on my credit card for the full amount, I am asking you to do the right thing and issue a refund in full.   As part of the claims process, they are going to ask if I attempted to resolve this with the merchant first, this is that attempt.   I'll add a few photos for your...

The 404 hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of the gulch. It’s close to all the shopping , restaurants, and tourist attractions. We arrived after midnight and had a hard time finding the hotel, we called kellie and she answered and made sure we got into our room. The staff was very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. They also provide snacks and water every day which is uncommon. The rooms have a lot of extra touches, like robes, sound machines, etc. The rooms are awesome, quiet , and clean. We will definitely stay here again. The only critiques I have , is that the rooms do not have curtains on the small windows. I am used to sleeping in a pitch black room, and our room was a lot brighter than preferred. I would love if they would add small blinds or curtains. Also, while the room is very quiet, I did get woken up to the sound of the door slamming from people coming In and out of the hotel every night.
