Our family, including kids ages 5-11) stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites/Gulch in Nashville for 10 days. First, everyone from the reception to the valet staff were very polite/accommodating. Our room was very clean and inviting all week (thanks to Deimy who welcomed our children with crayons/coloring sheets). Roy was very friendly and helpful. At our first breakfast, Sherry came over and introduced us; not only did she ask the names of our children, but she remembered them and would warmly greet us all week! The custodian (I wish I remembered his name!) always had a smile and soft chuckle, was quick to press our elevator button when our hands were full--or just to say "hi" and smile when he saw us. He helped to clean up the ice tea spill (my husband's spill, not the kids, ha ha) and he didn't seem troubled one bit, in fact, he seemed happy to help.
The breakfasts were incredible/delicious/abundant! I can honestly say it was the best complimentary breakfast I've ever had at any hotel ever. The food was always fresh, hot, and with much variety. The live music was an enjoyable and uplifting added touch!
The most incredible though, was Wendy! She introduced herself to my husband and me at the Up Lounge at the beginning of our stay, and we enjoyed a conversation with her that night, and throughout the week. She was very warm, friendly, and she made us feel like the most important people on Earth. She told us about the Sunday brunch that Up Lounge was hosting that week (that would include a visit from the Easter Bunny, with easter eggs, chocolate and candy, games and activities)! We were so excited to go to this and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious, the service was perfect (of course), the activities and games kept the kids very happy and occupied, and the kids loved their meals from the children's menu. We all left that brunch feeling so filled up and happy.
Wendy was sure to greet us when she saw us again at Up Lounge on Sunday night. She presented us with the sweetest gift--a bag of goodies for the kids, and the most lovely note that thanked us for choosing the Fairfield Inn & Suites and making it our home for the 10 days we stayed there. She expressed her gratitude in meeting us and how she enjoyed our great conversations, and wanted us to know that we are very appreciated and always welcome at the Fairfield Inn & Suites,
Thank you to the Fairfield Inn & Suites team for making us feel like part of your...
Read moreI booked a night in the King Suite to celebrate my partner's birthday, and the hotel certainly added a lot to our celebration! Customer service was great. The very friendly staff was seemed to take interest in the patron's lives and the occasion for their stay. We told the front desk workers that we were celebrating my partner's birthday, and the next morning one of the workers asked about our night and she seemed very happy for us. It is nice to have service that cares. The King Suite was very nice and modern. The bed was comfortable and pillows were not overly fluffy (this has killed a sleeping experience at other hotels). The lounge area was nice because we could watch TV while relaxing away from the bedroom area. There were AC outlets all over the room. This is crucial for a modern hotel, and I was never in a spot where I felt like I needed an outlet but there wasn't one in reach. The Internet was fast and they even provided an Ethernet cord for a direct Internet line (this will almost always be faster than wireless internet and it is convenient if you are working at the desk in the lounge area of the suite). We were not bothered by any outside noise during our stay so it makes me think these rooms are fairly sound proof. The bathroom was also really nice with a modern shower and plenty of towels and hand towlels provided for two people (I asked for extra towels in the reservation). The only thing that could have been improved was the quality of the toilet paper provided. I would have expected something on par with Charmin at a hotel like this, but it certainly wasn't that bad. The whirlpool was really nice. There were complementary towels so you don't have to use your own. It was like a giant jacuzzi. The continental breakfast was great! It had endless bacon and coffee (major selling point) and so much more. I did not try the milk, but I will say that the orange juice was really just Tang, which was disappointing and I would have preferred even Sunny D. But regardless of that, the breakfast was on point considering it was free, and probably the best I've had at any hotel. Overall, my experience was great. It is a little pricey, but considering the quality of the hotel and overall experience, this one has the best value (and probably one of the cheapest) compared to other hotels of this caliber. I would certainly come back to this hotel if I plan to stay in...
Read moreI stayed at the Fairfield Marriott Nashville Downtown/The Gulch hotel this past Saturday, October 5th. I am writing to relay the disappointing experience I had on this occasion. I was greeted by a not so personable woman at the front desk, who upon my check-in at approximately 4:45pm I was told that I would have to wait 10 minutes for a room to be cleaned. I questioned this as check-in was supposed to be ready at 3pm. She responded to me in an unprofessional tone that she had many late checkout requests that day and that is why my room was not ready. I proceeded to respond in a polite manner that this was unacceptable as late check outs should not affect my regularly scheduled check in process. She responded to me in a "huffy" tone that I was probably going to want a late check out so I shouldn't complain. I informed her that would not be the case as I would be checking out on Sunday October 6th at 10:30am prior to the 11am check out time. After being thoroughly shocked and dismayed by this individual's behavior I asked if I could have a beverage as compensation for my delay, to which she replied "no". I asked for her name and she told me Antoinette. I asked for her last name and she would not give it to me. Later the next morning upon check out she answered the phone in front of me and gave a different name. Clearly she was giving out fictitious names as she did not want to be reported for unprofessional and impolite conduct.
She abruptly left for the day and a gentleman named Eric assisted me finally at 5:16pm (2.25 hours post the scheduled check in time) to get me checked into my room. Eric was very professional and apologized for the delay. He was present upon my checkout on Sunday as well and was very polite. Antoinette was also present and yet again was rude and unwelcoming.
Furthermore once in my room I noticed there was a plastic bag covering the fire alarm, which seems like a life safety hazard.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will think twice before staying in a Marriott Fairfield hotel if this is considered an acceptable experience for patrons. I have reached out to the General Manager two times with...
