We stayed early February on a Thursday to a Sunday with two kids (7 & 4). We had a room on the 29th floor with a view of the Music City Center - queen room. As soon as you walk in the lobby, you can see how impressive this hotel is and how well it is maintained and cared for. There is always someone cleaning, sweeping, mopping, etc. It looked pristine the entire time we stayed. Our room had plenty of space for the 4 of us to have suitcases and stuff around the room. The floor to ceiling windows were amazing and the view was lovely - great sunrises. Blackout curtains were legit, too. Beds were comfortable (on the softer side) and big fluffy pillows. There was a large desk, two benches and an arm chair that came in handy for organizing our stuff. There was a closet, but we did not use it. It came with robes and slippers - the kids loved the slippers! The bathroom is very spacious with a separate toilet room. Large glass shower with pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a bar of soap - they smelled SO good, very Aveda like. Vanity had two sinks, large mirror, makeup mirror on the wall, bottle of lotion, and some other vanity items. Plenty of towels, too. The room does have a coffee / bar area that has the coffee machine, rocks glasses and wine glasses. The mini fridge is stocked with beverages and there are some snacks, as well. I did ask if we could have the mini bar items removed (as to not temp the kids), however, they said they couldn't remove the items but they could bring up an extra mini fridge for us to use, which was appreciated. Small things that I appreciated - hook by the door for coats or purses and the button display for privacy, etc. For some reason we thought they had an indoor pool, however, we were happy to hear the outdoor pool was heated. The weather was 55+ that weekend and it was perfect swimming weather for the kids. We had the pool to ourselves the whole time! Huge outdoor area, so this would be amazing in the summer with all the cabanas, and Cabana Club bar, etc. Hubby used the gym and said it was awesome - great machines, clean, bright, etc. We grabbed some quick snacks and breakfast at Stompin' Grounds Market a few days and it was SO good. We didn't get a chance to eat in the Stompin' Grounds restaurant, but it looked amazing. Super cute. We did not dine at Bourbon Steak on the 34th floor - but we did go up to see the views one night and then another night to sit at the bar and grab a cocktail (we were lucky to grab a seat!). The views... OMG the views! You have to come up to just see the views! The Bourbon Sky windows were all closed, so it wasn't open air as it would be in warmer months, but it was stunning nonetheless. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday night - clearly! Make reservations! And if you want Bourbon... this is your place to go! Staff was great, friendly, and helpful. The hotel was busy as there was a convention right across the street but it never felt crowded and it always looked polished and shiny. Another huge perk was the proximity to all the things - 2 blocks from Broadway, across the street from the convention center, 1 block from the arena, 2 blocks from the concert venue and tons of restaurants, bars, breweries all within walking distance! Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a higher end hotel...
Read moreRecently my girlfriend and I came to see family and stayed at the JW Marriot Nashville and it was INCREDIBLE! Right when we got there we were approached by the valet team asking if we needed help with our bags and asking details about our stay. In addition they offered us some water to drink, and this was all before I could barely step out of the car. Right from the start the service was incredible, the gentlemen that impressed us the most with his speed and customer service (his name I did not get) but he was a young man with long red hair, I wish I got his name because he was stellar. The entry way pulling up was beautiful and then we walk in and the design is stunning! We checked in and they were super friendly, professional and off gate asked if we needed anything. While walking to the elevator another person offered to help with our bags, we really felt valued during our stay here.
While exploring the hotel we ran into Mike one of the painters and he was incredibly friendly and engaged with us in conversation to tell us more about the hotel and the area and asked how our stay was. It truly impresses me when everyone in every department is eager to help and make sure our stay was going well. Mike told us more about the restaurants in the hotel and some must see attractions about the city. It was also so great to see how happy he was and how much he enjoyed working for the JW and he truly was incredibly happy working there! We had a great conversation with him and he really made us happy that we picked the JW for our stay. Thank you Mike "the painter" for all your help, great conversation and hospitality!
Even before we got there we were feeling valued and getting exceptional service. I needed help making a reservation and got in touch with Jeff Lamb, I had a few questions about the hotel and what I was looking for and he was so helpful, answered all my questions and ended up setting everything up for us and making us feel like VIP's! When we got there we were given a room on the 27th floor facing downtown and what an incredible view. Thank you Jeff Lamb for all your help!
During our stay we left to go to a local church service on Sunday and were gone for maybe two hours, in that time when I got back the cleaning service stopped by and truly went above and beyond. I noticed things like the bed was made and new towels which I have seen before but then I noticed that they made the dresser neat and organized our stuff, my clothes I had put on the floor were all in a pile over a plastic bag to put my clothes in, the bathroom was completely cleaned and my tooth brush, shaver, etc., were neatly laid on a towel to dry. I was honestly blown away at the care they put into making my stay feel luxurious.
My girlfriend and I are fortunate to travel often and we stay at a bunch of hotels and all over the country and this is by far the best experience I have had. I can honestly say I will only be looking at Marriot locations in the future and will 100% be staying at the JW Marriot Nashville again. Without question the best hotel experience I have ever had!
Thank you to the entire staff for...
Read moreTwo stars are only due to the bar and conference staff being great. The conference food was great and everyone working it was so polite and helpful.
Otherwise, this was the worst experience I’ve had at Marriott.
First, upon arrival, I was not greeted or offered assistance with my luggage though there were people standing outside. When I checked in, I was not given the usual Marriott member welcome or welcome gift (which, to be fair I was attending a conference so maybe that’s why).
There were splatters on the walls and stains in the carpet. There is awful insulation here, I could not sleep well due to the constant doors slamming because they’re so heavy, and all of the noise outside. I could hear people yelling from the ground level all the way upstairs. Sirens all night. No sound blockage whatsoever, and there’s no reason for this. The Grand Hyatt does not have these issues.
I constantly had a runny nose. My colleague also wasn’t feeling well and neither colleagues slept well. I thought it was due to lack of insulation, but I read that another visitor had a similar experience and found mold.
My safe did not work. I tried multiple times. Ended up locking my items in a travel lockbox I have. The glass on the nightstand was not secured. If you set anything on it, it moved. Huge safety hazard.
The closet is a joke an awful design. You can’t hang anything in there.
The small vanity mirror did not work, which I got over, but for Marriott to charge what they do, there’s no reason to have faulty items in rooms.
The sink faucets were not sealed in. They were just thrown in.
The water barely got hot enough for a shower. It was also tricky using the shower.
I also did not ever receive housekeeping. Which wasn’t a big deal, but I found out my colleagues did and I can’t figure out why I wasn’t serviced.
Room service… they charge a $5 delivery fee on top of an automatic 22% gratuity and they don’t disclose this on the ordering page, nor the ordering placard, nor inform you when the order is placed. I guess they feel warranted to charge $5 to walk from an elevator to you, when actual food delivery companies aren’t allowed to deliver and charge $0. This is your only option because unless you use their room service, you can’t have food delivered to your room. They don’t allow DoorDash, UberEats, etc to deliver your food to your room. You’re forced to come to the lobby for it. Room service was prompt and very sweet, though.
Literally nothing about this hotel was luxury except for the decor upon entering. It felt nothing different than a 2 star hotel. The staff did give me a bonus for the lack of concern upon check-in, but showed zero concern with the other issues I raised.
Edited to add: despite the hotel manager claiming to look into this, no contact nor apology was ever made. I...
