This was a destination for me . I own many Gibsons and have been a fan for years . This is about 1500 miles from my house and I went out of my way to stop here . The store is great . The prices on the guitars are spot on but their shirts and memorabilia are way high ! Most T shirts are $68 . There are a few for $30 but $68 is crazy . $10 for a small pin and $15 for a sticker are some examples . $100 for a book which I just bought on Amazon new for $28. Now the reason for the 2 stars . I was there for 30 minutes and was only approached by 1 employee . I was looking in the acoustic room ( I have 5 Gibson acoustic's not including my Gibson electrics ) and a salesmen asked if I needed any help . I said no I appreciate it and then Started to tell him how far I came to see the store and he just walked away LOL . Not even a “ wow well that’s great welcome and if you have questions I’m right here “ nope nothing . It put a damper on the whole visit . I wish I had this persons name because if he is doing that to me he’s doing it to others . If I was buying another guitar that day I would not have purchased it from him . I would bet the staff knows who this is and should address it . Also while I was there the staff asked 3 different people to close the acoustic room door while they sat in chairs at the other end of the room . Really just get the door fixed or put it on an auto closer . I’m there for 10 minutes and noticed this . Also I get having 1 armed guard ( I saw at least 2) but maybe station them at the door and maybe they can greet people coming in and check receipts leaving . So to recap for review .. great to visit once to view the store but their customer service needs serious work . I ended up spending $200 on shirts etc and won’t come back . I’ll still buy gibsons just won’t go back to that location . Very disappointed with the sales staff in general . This is the Gibson garage and should ooze great customer service beyond anyone’s expectations . You sell guitars . I’m sure many of the people going in there can easily afford them . You don’t have the hope diamond in there lol . If people are visiting you it’s because they like your brand . You have to hire...
Read moreThis is more than a guitar shop. It's an experience. Any guitar lover can appreciate the Gibson Garage. I brought my 9 year old son with me because I wanted to share the experience with him. I bought a Gibson Les Paul Standard even though I originally planned on buying a Classic. I saw a Bourbon Burst that I just couldn't say no to.
The staff was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and willing to let my 9 year old son play a $5K SG without reservation. My son was able to play a few dozen guitars that I'm sure most guitar shops would not allow for somebody so young. The staff conducted themselves in a manner that reflects extremely well on the Gibson brand. I plan on going back to buy another guitar based not only on the inventory but on the professionalism of the staff. My son and I were treated like rock stars before they even knew what I was planning to buy.
Aside from purchasing a beautiful, balanced, flawless guitar, the technician gave it a glance and made sure it was ready to leave the store. It was thoroughly inspected. The staff gets a lot of out of town patrons and they asked me if I was shipping the guitar or walking out of the store with it. I live nearby so I walked out with it. They have armed security there so I had no worries about it being stolen walking to my truck which was parked in front of the store.
My son will remember that day for the rest of his life. He didn't want to leave and the staff, despite being inundated with tourists, were happy to answer his questions as well as my own. This is more than a guitar shop. Bang for the buck, there isn't a better guitar shop that I've ever bought from and I've been all over the world. This is a first rate shop. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to buy a quality guitar. It doesn't matter if you are an experienced player, rock star, or just a novice. This is a place where you will receive first class treatment. Special shout out to the manager, Scott, for hooking my son up with a poster from...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting the Gibson Garage this past weekend. We had to be in Nashville for my wife’s business and she was kind enough to indulge me on a trip to this amazing store while we were there. It’s all I wanted to do while in the city, and it did not disappoint. If you have a passion for guitars - and especially Gibson and Epiphone guitars - and if you ever find yourself in Nashville, do yourself a favor and visit the Garage. The staff was incredibly friendly. They had seating and offered water to all the poor guitar widows and widowers whose spouses were all too enthralled with the majesty of the Gibson masterpieces that adorned every inch of the store. I was able to try out amps and guitars to my heart’s content. But the best part was when my wife surprised me by suggesting I actually BUY an axe while we were there. I settled on the Les Paul Muse in Smoked Almond. It is a wonderful work of art. The buying experience was fantastic. Scott was incredibly friendly and the service was quick and easy. Despite being an obvious tourist trap, the prices were the same or better than what you’d find anywhere else. Most importantly, they threw in a gig bag and a Gibson T-shirt to boot, all for the same price you’d pay for just the axe at a big box store. My visit to the Gibson Garage was better than I ever would have expected. Please support the industry and please support guitar music!...
