Rock n Roll Sushi is a good spot if you are looking for good sushi. They have a variety of options that all look interesting, and most taste great. The decor is nice, with all rock band paraphernalia and TVs playing rock music videos. Now for some constructive feedback for the restaurant that would make it a 5 star.
Improve the layout of the decor. The tables for 2-4 people are lined up under a row of TVs so that we cannot see the music videos. We can slightly see one television on the other side by the bar.
Increase the lighting in the restaurant. With a dark colored interior, darker colored menus, and low light, it’s tough to see the menu as clearly.
Adjust music volume - if was a bit louder than expected for a restaurant, so I found myself talking much louder to be heard.
Consider decreasing menu choices. Many of the menu items I was seeing were the EXACT same except for one or 2 toppings extra in many cases. Why make it confusing when you can just say “Add shrimp tempura for $1)?
Pearl Jam Roll was not great visually and very ok taste-wise. The interior of this roll looked unappetizing with an incredibly grey piece of fish.
Sweet Home Alabama Roll - when you say the roll is fried, I am expecting a crispy bite similar to tempura. However, this roll was more soggy than anything. Maybe you aren’t frying it at a high enough temperature to not retain as much oil which can make it soggy? Not sure.
Beatles roll - pretty good, but when it says “topped with eel,” I expect the full roll to have eel on each piece. Our roll had two thin pieces that laid across the middle 3 pieces. If that’s the case, let customers know when they order that.
I do want to say that the California roll was excellent. It tasted really fresh, and the rice around it was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed that roll the most.
I am hesitant to try this location again, but if I do, I will edit this review based upon the...
Read moreThe current time is 7:54pm cst. I sat down at 7:17pm cst. Watching the staff walk past me and was never addressed until I asked a woman cleaning off a table who the server was and she said herself. Explained that they were short staffed (understandable) but I hadn’t been greeted or anything and the restaurant wasn’t full but she chose to clean off a table. Received my drinks pretty quickly. Appetizer (wontons) came out hot after about 10 minutes but I watched the food come out and sit. People we’re talking over it and even had a huge top next to it. My server walked past the food 3 times before grabbing it. In addition to that, she walked around refilling water and walked past me. It was pretty obvious what was happening here. When she finally decided to bring my sushi rolls that she’d walked past multiple times, I was frustrated and let her know that it had been sitting and I was hoping it wasn’t mine, I’d like to pay for the appetizers and go. Another 10-15 minutes passed until I had to approach someone else so I could leave because all I needed was to pay. They literally have a device to check out with on their arm. After walking up to someone else to check me out and left, they said “bye!” & “thank you!” And I went back because I was verklempt. I asked a man if he was the manager and he was the proclaimed owner, I started to explain in confusion how I waited a while to even get my drink order taken and attempted to express my experience with him and he cut me off with “ma’am as you can see we are short staffed…” I asked if he was going to allow me to complete my sentence without cutting me off to hear what I had to say and he waved me off and said “bye!” Turned his back and walked off. I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life. An owner of a restaurant completely dismissive, condescending and rude. It’s truly...
Read moreI'm writing this review because I saw the Facebook advertisement on my page about a 50% off coupon up to $20 off. I figure honest and specific feedback would be encouraged. Cool, lets give it a try.
The food is just okay. There are no prices on their online menus (they're expensive for the amount and quality of food they serve). There were only 3 other tables dining while we were there during dinner time (5:30-6:30pm). Always take a hint when a restaurant isn't busy during normal eating hours!!!
First off, the Edamame is microwaved. Really guys? Yes, I saw it being made in the microwave and heard the "DING" when it was done being nuked. The first death to a restaurant is using a microwave in their kitchen.
We ordered 2 rolls. The Green Day and Pearl Jam Roll. Both we're around $12-13 each, I believe. One of the rolls, the Green Day only had 6 pieces with it. On top, the ginger we were given with our sushi was dried out and old. The two of us weren't full off the two rolls and edamame, so we ordered a third item which was the Poke bowl. We ordered the spicy tuna Poke bowl and the spicy tuna came in the form of an ice cream scoop! EWW! It didn't seem fresh even if it was. Please google image what a Poke Bowl is supposed to look like!
Now, it wasn't all bad. The service was truly great. Our server at the bar was very friendly and timely. I do not blame any of the mentioned issues on the staff, at all. They're just following directions that are put in place.
I don't see this place lasting very long, honestly. Nashville has plenty of great, fresh, tasteful food options and you must be one of those in...
