Initially, I hadn’t planned on doing this. But instead of just talking to the general manager, I want the owner to see what happened this evening.
I was at the 21st Ave. location Sunday evening just after 8:30. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza to go. (Nevermind the fact that the guy didn’t make it to go.) I watched the man behind the corner rub all over his beard with his gloves on and NOT change the gloves. Shortly after, my slice of pizza came out, and he touched it twice with this very same glove. So I told him I wanted a new slice of pizza since he just touched mine with the same glove that he used to touch all over his face with. He said he would have to make a new pizza. No apology! Nothing! And he didn’t change his gloves either. So I said nevermind. Then, I walked out the door.
What happened next still has me blown away.
I walked back in and asked for a receipt. He said, “why don’t I just give you a refund?” Followed by the comment - “you’re just going go post online about it anyway.” I told him I didn’t want a refund. I, also, said I wasn’t going to post anything online (but here I am because I decided that I want the owner to know everything that happened). So I asked him again for the receipt. Only this time, I said it’s because I want to talk to the manager. Then, I decided to ask if there was a manager there right now. He informed me that HE was the manager and that the general managers name is Michael. He then proceeded to YELL at me and say that he didn’t touch his face and what he did touch and what he didn’t touch. I didn’t hear all of it because he started walking away. No accountability. No apology. Nothing. Instead, he YELLED at me and walked away towards the end. I never got the receipt that I asked for either. Which I guess I don’t need at this point.
Sadly, the whole restaurant heard this interaction. I realized this once I started to turn around to leave and saw everyone staring at me. And mind you, this NOT because I was the one who started arguing and getting loud. I just asked for a receipt. That’s it.
THIS is a MANAGER?! Managers ARGUE WITH and YELL at guests?!?!?!?! Managers argue and yell at guests IN FRONT OF an almost full restaurant?!?!?!?! Managers start arguments and fights then walk away?!?!?!?! Managers don’t change their gloves?!?!?!?! Managers don’t apologize?!?!?!?! Managers don’t take accountability?!?!?!?! THIS IS A MANAGER?!?!?!!!!
This “manager” needs to be FIRED for MULTIPLE REASONS!!! Heck, he was already complaining before I even ordered my food! He was complaining to the guy before me! He said he was ready to be out of there. He said he had 25 mins left before close, but he had to make a bunch of pizza’s for someone to come pick up at 9:30. The man clearly hates his job. So there is NO REASON to keep him employed with your company!
This whole situation really sucks for me. You guys are my FAVORITE pizza place in Nashville. I just moved back here. I lived here for a year and a half (2022-2023), but I left two years ago. During that time, I told SO MANY people to go to Pizza Perfect for pizza. I’ve been back now a little over a month, and I’ve already been a few times to get my pizza fix. Just recently, I voted for you guys for the best pizza in Nashville in the Nashville Scene contest.
But now, I’m witnessing a MANAGER touch all over his face with his gloves, not change them, and then get upset with me for saying something about it. Where do I go with all of this? Do I go back? Do I drive to Bellevue to get my fix? I have no idea! I just know that it sucks! And I, the guest, shouldn’t be in a position like this, I just went in for a slice of pizza at my favorite pizza place. Now, here we are.
FIRE THIS “MANAGER!” That’s about the only thing I know at this point. FIRE...
Read moreI dropped by Pizza Perfect on a whim while roaming around the pleasant Vanderbilt area of Nashville, and oh boy, what a delightful find it was! A casual yet lively spot with a real charm that makes you feel right at home. The vibe is comfy, welcoming, with a pinch of bustling energy, typical of a favorite local joint.
I went for the pepperoni pizza, and I'm here to proclaim it was heavenly! 🌟 Thin, cheesy, and the right amount of greasy, each bite was a melody in my mouth! It was like each slice was harmonizing to the tunes of the lively Nashville music. The pizza was unequivocally an 8/10, well-baked with toppings that felt fresh and tasted divine. Plus, those with a penchant for parmesan, prepare to sprinkle your hearts out!
The price was a sweet melody to my wallet, falling gracefully within the $10-$20 range per person. The lunch specials they offer on weekdays are a deal not to miss. I grabbed 2 gourmet slices and a drink for just $10.50! It’s like hitting a high note in a world full of overpriced eats.
Although I didn’t try the salads, they looked tempting and fresh, and I heard whispers of them being different but delicious. The other dishes on the menu were enticing too, promising a symphony of flavors, be it the subs or the pasta.
The service here was top-notch. The staff members were friendly, polite, and prompt, hitting the right chords of hospitality. I had a chance to interact with the owner, a truly world-class guy, spreading joy and perfection through his pizzas!
This place has a little bit of everything, a spritz of collegiate spirit, a dash of family-friendly atmosphere, and ample servings of deliciousness. Whether you’re dining in or opting for their lively to-go service, whether it’s a casual lunch or a cozy dinner, Pizza Perfect is tuning all the right strings.
Parking can be a bit tricky during peak hours, but it’s a small compromise for the deliciousness that awaits. And hey, if you're just strolling around, it’s a great walking destination too!
All in all, if you find yourself in Nashville and your taste buds are yearning for an outstanding pizza experience, Pizza Perfect is the stage where flavors perform a live concert. I’m eagerly waiting for my next visit to try the rest of their menu and, of course, more of that fabulous pizza.
Ending on a high note, this is a must-visit spot in Nashville. Try it once, and you’ll be singing its...
Read moreI can’t possibly use enough words to truly express my gratitude for what we experienced last night on 21st Ave, at Pizza Perfect.
During this freak snow storm, many healthcare workers (including myself) made the decision to stay in area hotels to ensure that we could make it to work, and safely. Being from Florida and this being my first winter, I never anticipated stores and restaurants closing. When planning for my impromptu hotel stay, food and snacks were no where on my list.
We left work last night at 7:30 (typical for any hospital’s change of shift) only to find that most (if not all) food places had closed at 7. Mind you, all places that are next to Vanderbilt. Some closed for the safety of their staff, while others closed due to a lack of food. We began our hunt for food at 9pm, (dominos light was on and people were inside, we didn’t realize it was people picking up orders that had been placed at 7) After being turned down by Dominos and told to try a gas station, we kept walking in hopes of something more. We came to an open door at Pizza Perfect, only to be greeted by a very nice gentleman who apologetically explained that they had too, run out of food.
Being the stressed and hungry healthcare workers we were, we vented to him about our situation, in hopes that he may have had an idea or knew of anything that was open, or that had food. That’s when he looked around the counter and said “I have 3 sub rolls, I can at least get you guys a sandwich.”
We looked at each other and could’ve cried. And it was the best sandwich we could’ve gotten.
Moving 1000 miles away from anything you’ve ever know in your 20’s is scary. But it’s moments like these that absolutely warm my heart, knowing that we moved to an amazing city, that really cares about the community they serve.
Pizza Perfect, thank you so much, from the bottoms of our hearts, for feeding us last night. There simply aren’t enough words to express how thankful we are. Without you, we would’ve gone to bed with our gas station snacks and hoped for something better in the morning. We are very excited to visit you again when Nashville isn’t covered in ice, and when you have some dough! You’ve created loyal...
