UPDATE: This review is from Jan 2022. Also, I just realized this was delivered from the Brentwood location. The other 2 reviews are the original location. The situation is the same as below. It's the most expensive Thai in town with the smallest portions I've had and clear shortcuts. I understand having to adjust due to rent prices, covid, and staff; but, if you want to make it, you never reduce quality. You get 2 egg rolls per order. They are half the size of what you're used too. They are even stingy with the sauces by only filling the cups half way. The egg rolls are pretty good. The wings are fatty but have really good flavor. The spring rolls were only ok, because the greens and herbs were not fresh. The peanut sauce was extreme dark brown and again with a half little cup. The Pad Thai is the smallest portion I've ever gotten anywhere and tasted like nothing until I added my own lime and garlic chili sauce. There were hardly any peanuts, no cilantro, and very little green onion. The green curry looked like green food dye was added, and it was clearly watered down. Their green curry used to be amazing. My prediction is that this restaurant will not last another year, if they don't make changes. Good luck, Thai Esane. If you ever decide to go back to your 2019 self, please let me know. I'll give you all my support. Until then, it's Deg Thai for me.
UPDATE: This review is from July 2021. I had lunch here today, and things seemed to have changed. I think maybe they are using lower quality ingredients like so many have done during covid. The crab rangoons are now just like everywhere else, overly thick shell packed full of cream cheese, and little to no crab. I got the green curry with salmon. The last time, it was the best green curry I had ever had. This time, the sauce was underseasoned with red pepper flakes on top. The pad Thai was pretty good but not the best I've had by any means. I'll try it again, but it's not the special place it was.
This review is from 2019. I gave it 5 stars. Fanfreakintastic! I've been trying to find the perfect crab rangoon for 25 yrs. Found it! Thin crispy wrap vs thick stale madness I usually find. Pad thai was spicy and fresh. Green curry with salmon has fresh crisp veggies and a big delicious 6oz of salmon. I got take out and drove 20 min with it. Still hot and...
Read moreDoes not make sense for me visit this place again, especially because of the display of the dishonesty and deceit which was premeditated. My waitress was a young girl by the name YING. 1.We ordered a Red Thai curry in noodles medium spicy with fried tofu, which according to the menu has few veggies served with curry. After 20 minutes, the order comes in, and I notice something strange. I am a vegetarian and was able to see pieces of chicken / meat in the dish. The menu did not mention anything about the presence of any kind of meat in this specific dish. I understand that it may have been mixed up with something else and understand that this could happen at times. On alerting the waitress, she admitted the mistake and said she will get the correct dish (which is not supposed to have any meat). She brings in the “correct” dish, and I starting eating. After eating a few spoons, I notice something strange again. Another piece of chicken AGAIN! This just clearly proved that no one cared for our preferences. They had just removed the pieces of meat from the earlier dish and handed over the same thing again. On talking to the waitress again, she does not know what is going on and says. “Are you strict vegetarians? All our curries as made using chicken broth.”. Are you kidding me? How much more deceitful can you possibly be? I have been to numerous Thai places and this is the first time I hear such an excuse (or possibly lies), just to cover up your dishonesty. If ALL the curries do indeed contain chicken broth, then why doesn’t the description of the dish mention it? What is the point of having other dishes that are named something like “Chicken Noodle Soup” which mentions chicken broth as one of its components? The next step followed was more apologies and the offer to order a replacement dish without being charged for it. This seems like to story of a big bank that was caught cheating and tries to get away by paying measly fines. We politely declined, paid for the other dish that was...
Read moreVisiting the area and reviews for this place were great however the experience was lackluster to say the least. Parking was easy , we were sat right away and the menu has pictures. Now, service was terrible! The waitress was slow, and the location was not busy. I asked for soy sauce at least 3-4 times in which I was given hoisin sauce. Ok kool no problem, water in our cups was spilled on the table when the waitress dropped them off but she did nothing to wipe down the table or offer extra napkins, not a big problem. Appetizers came out quick, but entrees was another story. My friend ordered massaman curry to which came out looking like red curry and was extremely thick almost yogurty consistency. Looks nothing like the picture on the menu. When asked to replace it, the manager questioned about why we don’t like it, and we were greeted to a cold response about replacing the item. My food which was also a curry noodle soup was ok but I was not offered a to go box prior To leaving. My food was barely touched and quite obvious that I hadn’t eaten much be because i was waiting on her replacement dish. My friends food was replaced with another dish and while I waited my food became cold so I was gonna take it with but was never offered anything to box up my food. My friends food was replaced with a garlic stir fry, and for 17.00 she was met with less than 1 oz of chicken, a tremendous amount vegetables and not to mention when it was dropped off we were again met with a coldness that appeared to be like hurry up and eat and get on outta here. The waitress and manager both appeared to be more than ready for us to leave. Very sad about the visit there because it as the only disappointing thing about our visit...
