1 star for the amenities, another star for the location...the service was deplorable. This will be long, but it will be an accurate depiction of what occurred. I used an apartment locating service and they found a really great unit within this property. So I flew in from out of state to spend some time looking at places. This was our first stop on Saturday April 14 2018.
We arrived at 10am and no leasing agent was at the office until around 10:07am - in the meantime my apartment locator asked the concierge where the leasing office consultants were and that we had at 10am appointment. The concierge said we may not be seen first because someone else showed up first even if we had an appointment. So my apartment locator expressed to the concierge that appointments should be taken first and she said well the other guy was here first, which was the first red flag...I was a little concerned with the concierge's lack of knowledge in how appointments vs walk-ins work but we chose to sit with the gentleman that showed up first.
At 10:07am the leasing agent was a gentleman that came over to talk to us, he was giving someone that was moving in their keys. Once that was done, the leasing agent explained to the other gentleman that we were there with an appointment so we'd be seen first, so I felt like things may get back on track.
We went and saw a few different apartments and the amenities onsite. I really loved one unit and once we returned to the leasing office, we sat with the leasing agent and he asked for my email and phone number...which he already had as my apartment locator provided him with a sheet of my information already. At that point he said he'd send me the link to the apartment I liked so that I could apply. We said, ok and left that property.
We went onto another location or two and I kept checking my email and never got the email, so by 5pm we call and he says someone leased it online so its no longer available.
Keep in mind, every single other place sent me the email before I even got to my car and we toured 5 other places all 5 were able to send me a link immediately...even locations that were packed and holding open houses sent it immediately.
When I addressed him (the leasing agent) he cited family problems and being understaffed that day...all well after the fact. So I now would have to pay more for a unit because they failed to send me a link to the apartment. My apartment locator called over there to speak with someone else about the situation and they mentioned he should be able to offer a concession, it is up to him. I express my concern again to him and he throws the responsibility on his manager instead...so again, confusion and miscommunication continues.
He sends me an email copying his manager and I replied...twice, with what I felt may be an appropriate concession for the mistakes made that day, including a price match on a different unit or month free, something, I was hoping they'd offer something up but in case they didn't I listed a few things to get creative about the conversation....keep in mind, two emails (I felt like at this point I needed to work with them in writing because verbally nothing seems to stick)
Then a woman who may be his manager replies asking what she can do to help after I had already sent two emails in reply to the leasing agent the manager and whomever else he copied....so at this point I'm thinking no one talks to one another or reads email or does anything in an organized timely fashion.
I replied to the manager that she needed to read the other emails and / or talk to her leasing agent that caused the issue....and guess what...no response.
Moving from out of state is an extremely stressful kind of move....theres a lot of money spent, taking days and time off work to try and find a place..it's a lot to manage....and to miss out on a unit because someone couldn't send an email is a wildly careless way to treat a potential new tenant. I've lived in so many places in over the course of my career and haven't ever seen anything so disorganized and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere is a lot of great things to be said about this place but some glaring downfalls from my personal experience. I moved in just over two weeks ago.
Let's start with the positive; great amenities, building is always spotless, concierge staff is absolutely awesome and John, the head of concierge, is fantastic. Maintenance staff is always prompt and professional. I can't say enough good things about this group of employees. Also, every single resident there is extremely friendly and the public amenities all have a great vibe because of this.
On with the poor: the management. They sit somewhere between lazy, not caring, and borderline incompetent. I was moving from out of state so getting my lease signed remotely was more difficult than getting a mortgage, even though it's all done electronically. I had to constantly reach out to the leasing staff to get anything done, they aren't proactive.
Part of the move in special is the first two months free after you prorate into the first month. I wrote checks on move in for this and other deposits/pet fees. Still got multiple notices via email that my rent was due then overdue. I contacted the leasing agent only to find a letter in the mail days later that I owed not only for the checks I wrote that were never applied to my balance. It was finally sorted after speaking with management.
The reason for the low rating: I picked my unit based on the floor plan and pictures shown for that exact unit on the website. Said unit had a balcony, even the view from the balcony was shown on the info sheet for that unit. Upon move in I found there was no balcony. I immediately brought it to my leasing agent who said he would look into it. A week later, no response. I contacted management who said they would look into it and would contact me the next day. 3 days later nothing. I reach out again and she said that she sent an email to some regional manager and would let me know. Three more days later, I hadn't heard anything so I sent her another email. That was about 36 hours ago... still no response. No offer to allow me to move to another unit(the building is maybe at half capacity so I know plenty are available), no offer of a discount, absolutely zero effort has been made. Having access to fresh air and a view was one of the determining factors I chose this complex.
Would I move here again? Truly the people are great and the amenities are awesome. However, there are now countless other, and newer, apartment complexes opening up with equal or better amenities within a stones throw. I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere first as this experience has not lived up to their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm excited that this will be my new home Feb 1. So after walking on faith and going out to find my dream home I came to this place and it truly felt like home. I toured with Graham, then Sarah, and finally Phil. Yes I went 3 different times same week. The second time was to make sure I didn't like the place just because Graham's great personality. That day Sarah took me on a tour to the 2 apartments I was most interested in. The one with the view of the city and restaurants is the one I decided I might get. However I went home and thought, it would be nice to be a little higher but with the same apartment style and view. I was so excited to see that an apartment two floors up had everything I wanted. It is hard to find apartments with deep garden tubs AND floor to ceiling windows AND a roof top pool AND free yoga in the penthouse each week for residents. The final hook was seeing everyone coming off or going onto the elevators with a dog or alone with a huge smile on their face. It also helps that the concierges are very personable and so are the leasing agents. The last day that I came I toured with Phil and my good friend; we had a good time visualizing how the apartment would look once my furniture arrived and I solidified my apartment two floors higher. Well that night we spoke with Chloe and she suggested where we should eat within walking distance. When we came back a boot was on both our cars:-\ yet they called the company and they were able to get the boots off in no time. We learned we had to check with the concierge to give a parking pass if we were going to leave our cars in the visitor spot after hours. We of course did not have to pay for the boot bill. So far I'd recommend moving into this place bc who wouldn't want to live downtown in a luxury home. I will update this...
