Fat Mama's Tamales — Restaurant in Natchez

I'm giving this place to only two stars and here's why. The little girl that was working the cash register was pleasant. She had a very good attitude she was polite and courteous. However. It only gets two stars. Upon receiving our food of two Taco salads one chicken and one beef. I found a long hair in my food. A long brown hair was mixed in with my taco salad the chicken in my taco salad. When I approached the manager about this, she he stated that the hair belonged to my friend who was visiting the establishment with me for lunch my friend's hair is red yes it is not Brown I'm going to enclose a picture of her hair because the lady took the hair that was in my food after she dug it out of my food when I showed her and threw it away after saying it was my companions. She was rude, unprofessional, overall attitude was ugly. She with her attitude stated that she could make me another one but that was not part of her Cruise hair. She said all her crew wore hair nets and when I pointed out that she herself was not wearing a hairnet and had long brown hair she got defensive. Point being I will not be visiting this establishment again ever I have not eaten but one bite of my food it is nowhere to go box on his way home with me so maybe I can get one of my car about it to eat it cuz I'm not touching it this is the reason for the two stars. Our first experience here was a bit confusing but after we figured it out it was pretty simple. You go inside and order at the register!

The ladies here who helped us were extremely nice and very patient with us since we didn't know the menu and had questions. We ended up sitting down and looking over a Togo menu. They were even kind enough to bring us our food when it was done! It was pretty busy since there was a reserved party for the entire patio so I hope next time we get the chance go eat out there!

The armor was amazing, everything was being cleaned as soon as people left and as I said the staff is amazing here! Now if only I could take back the brain freezes I got from the frozen adult drinks.

ALSO they have parking on both sides which we didn't realize until we were inside which is also when we found out they have drive through! Keep in mind though, if you want one of those adult drink, you can't take it to go. They have a strict no leaving the property rule posted, though we didn't ask because of this posting.

Overall we will be going back very soon and maybe ordering less food next time, or not so we have all those...

This place is a treasure!!! An outstanding casual resto-bar that manages to be delicious but not pretentious.

Their menu features a variety of delicious selections, each of which is of outstanding quality, taste, and value! My personal favorite so far has been the muffuletta, followed closely by their namesake tamales. Really, you can’t go wrong here.

If I ever do get fatigued on a particular menu item from overindulging in it, I’m certain I will find something else that’s similarly outstanding waiting for me to try.

The vibe here is eclectic and laidback - comfortable without feeling “cheap” - but maintaining an affordability that makes it practical to call an everyday joint, especially if you reside nearby.

Whether you’re a resident or a traveler/tourist fresh off the boat, make sure to eat here at least once during your visit and enjoy it firsthand. I can promise you...
