Maurizio's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Neptune Township

If you ever saw the old school TV show “Cheers” , there is a popular regular customer that walks into the bar almost every day and the entire bar/restaurant yells “NORM!” The opening theme song to the show is “where everybody knows your name”. That’s the best way that I can describe the warm and fuzzy and energetic feeling that goes through me everytime I walk into the Pizzaria! I get the same thing, grilled chicken Caesar salad, and a slice of pizza, and the staff here cares so much about their clientele that they go above and beyond with customer service, guest satisfaction, and food quality! Here is what I mean.. I call ahead to place a take out order, and without saying a word I hear “Hello miss Debbie how’s it going for ya today??” It was Collette! She recognized my phone number and immediately answered with such a fabulous greeting! She knows about me from coming in and will ask me how things are with my job, family etc. she remembers that sometimes I get avocado in my salad and will ask me if I want that included. I LOVE the margarita and vegetable pizza there. The flavors and crust are pronominal! Collette even remembers that I like thick fluffy crust on my pizza and she picks a special slice for me that she knows I will love and puts it aside for me when I order my to go. It’s so endearing how much she cares about me and the kind of pizza that I like. It’s those little things that make me feel so special and it says a lot about how the business is run there. One of my favorite little guys there my specialty pizza maker also knows that I love the bruccetta pizza. They don’t always have it but when he sees me he says “when are you comming in this week? I’ll make sure that I make it for you to enjoy!’ He also puts balsamic glaze on my pizza and places it in a box with the sides taped so it doesn’t slide when I travel. I wish I could write more about the food and the owner and every time experience that I’ve ever had… but what I’m trying to say is this place is PHONOMENAL in every way possible and I cannot thank them enough for making me feel so incredibly special. Save yourself the food poisoning and do not order from here. We received an undercook pizza that gave me severe food posting; ended up going to the hospital and the response we got from the restaurant was “ it’s not my problem & that’s how our food is cooked” My husband has ate here before and said he never had a problem; in town visiting family and decided to order some pizza; took two bites and that was enough to cause me to become sick; we threw out the entire pie. After leaving the hospital because my husband said their pizza has been good in the past I was like okay let me call them it was probably a one time thing and we can just get a replacement. The customer service was HORRIBLE !! The manger Nicole had the worse attitude; zero concern. Told us it wasn’t her problem. After I asked to speak to someone with a better attitude she put me on a long hold; came back and seemed concerned then just responded “ there’s nothing I am willing to do” told her we just wanted a fair solution to the issue to which she said she wouldn't provide; so when I let her know I would contact the health department after she told me “ this is how our pizza is made “ she said go ahead that’s not a problem. We never once asked for a refund just a replacement to what we completely overpaid for. The owner of this establishment is racist and rude. I ordered 6 slices today 4 plain 1 shrimp scampi and 1 Margarita. I normally check my food to go before I walk out of an establishment however, this time I did not I got to my car. I realize the four plain slices was good. However, the margarita slices and the shrimp scampi slice had looked like it was from the night before I went back into the establishment I politely said this pizza Appears to be old. Can I have two fresh slices of what I’ve ordered? He immediately got defensive hostile-disrespectful ,rude, aggressive, argumentative, and told me I was not a Regular. Which he wouldn’t know because he’s only in this establishment once a month! kudos to the Mexican workers, but I don’t know how they work under his management because he was also rude to them. Make a long story short I paid with a card I got cash back in return and I will no longer be returning to because the management has no respect for their consumers, especially the black ones and let me just put that out there because it is what it is.
