Complete waste of time. Don't even try to find the restaurant you will never find it. It is hidden by security on the fourth floor, down a long hallway. Make sure to have your ID or you ain't even getting on the elevator.
They use frozen black bean burgers. Their fugazi eggs have SOY in them. It took me over 75 minutes to try to find the restaurant. I guess it was a sign from "god" to not go here.
I was staying at the Mirage last week. I was VERY excited to find out there was a vegan restaurant across the street. I always like to support the local vegan spot when I travel. So I headed across the street in the 110 degrees to get some good to eat. I called the restaurant but someone else answered the phone. The phone attendant said that the Truth and Tonic phone wasn't working that day. I asked them which level they are located on and the person said the 4th floor. Keep in mind that the Venetian is very confusing because there are 2 towers. When I got to the Venetian I was in the Palazzo, which only has 3 levels. I asked several people who worked there any most of them had no idea where the restaurant was located. I called T and T several times and the woman gave me terrible directions. After about an hour of walking around I finally found the restaurant. You have to show your ID to guard and then go to the 4th level on the Ventana tower side. Then go down a long hallway in the hotel and there is the restaurant. The menu is subpar for a vegan place. I do eat eggs but even though they mention having a "normal" side to the menu the eggs have soy which I prefer not to eat. So overall I would avoid this place. Almost impossible to find it, subpar menu, no much ambiance and MANY other better options. I ate at a Mexican place in between the towers that was...
Read moreWill make this as concise as possible but promise it’s worth the read. After taking a seat & viewing the menu, my wife and I began to suspect that despite the google listing online stating that Truth & Tonic is a fully vegan restaurant, it’s not. I very politely & nicely asked our waiter if they were fully vegan. He said they used to be but they still focus heavily on the large portion of the menu that is plant based. I said okay no problem, and causally said with a smile “dang whoever’s in charge of that might want to change the info online.” But then made sure he knew it wasn’t an issue & that we were still happy to try the vegan options on the menu. We were very upset but did not want to take it out on someone who’s not a fault & just doing their job. While my non-vegan father was ordering, the waiter asked, “would you like the real chicken or the fake… I mean vegan chicken?” In that moment I was floored but didn’t say anything because I really never feel like consuming someone’s saliva along with my food. As a military Vet you can bet I’m not a snowflake - even my non-vegan sister said she thought it sounded extremely disrespectful. Objectively, the food was very delicious, but the experience left a bitter taste in my mouth. While eating the food, I did not have peace of mind that all of the contents were vegan since the waiter seemed to have such a disregard to us wanting to eat neither dead animal flesh nor their byproducts. We always leave a good tip out of habit for people who work in demanding service industries, but this is the first time in a long time I wish I hadn’t left...
Read moreAs a vegan, I am really grateful that The Venetian has this cafe. While working a conference this week, I was a little stressed about how I was going to nourish myself while working in a hotel/convention venue where restaurants sometimes have a plantbased option but not always super healthy. Truth & Tonic was my saving grace! They have a little something for anyone seeking wellness while in Vegas: next to a spa, beverages with a good variety of boosters, like ashwaghanda and mushroom powders to name a couple and healthy, delicious food. Here's what I got:
Breakfast day 1 - overnight coconut chia oats with fresh berries and a matcha latte with a mushroom booster. YUMMY!! Breakfast day 2 - Half order of chilaquiles with black beans and tofu scramble on top and half Green Beast Smoothie (all flavorful and satisfying).
Lunch day 1 - Edamame/hummus breakfast toast w/salad. Delicious and nourishing - the salad was a surprising addition - so good. Lunch day 2 - Half order of the Chilaquiles above and half of the green beast smoothie.
Dinner day 1 - Quinoa Salad - a big delicious surprise! So good, I ate the whole thing, which overfilled me (no bueno - lol...). Dinner day 2 (took to airport) - their Vietnamese Salad (took one bite at the airport while watching flights go by on the tarmac - sooo good I'm going to try and make it at home.
(tip for anyone on the go: because the place was packed with thousands of conference goers, I took my ,lunch and dinner with me both days -...
