Service was great, everyone was super friendly and helpful but the dining area is small & no room to stand in line. We had to stand between tables while waiting in line…awkward having to invade the space of fellow patrons who are trying to enjoy their meal. They do offer al fresco dining as well but we prefer to dine inside if possible. The food is only meh as far as flavor is concerned. The portions are large, including the burgers but I didn’t see any options for smaller portions for adults who can’t or don’t want to eat a large portion. I hope they consider this as an additional option or I may just ask if I can order a Baby Fat instead.
The Impossible burger was no where near as tasty as the Impossible Whopper at Burger King, IMO. The BK burger has excellent flavor & has that flame-broiled taste whereas the Fatburger Impossible Burger has no flavor and tastes charred & burnt/“fried” which I’m sure it is but I didn’t like it. The rootbeer was watery as well & the beverage area was very claustrophobic in proximity to the seats so we had to scoot & shuffle around other patrons waiting for beverages.
The restroom was clean & well stocked but the door is a tad heavy so use caution when exiting as it may slip out of your hand when opening it.
They offer gluten free & vegetarian food options as well…not sure about vegan options but they do have Vegan shakes. They also offer a variety of the Buffalo Wings but I don’t like hot wings so I can’t comment on that.
I had the sweet potato fries & they were similar to those at Biff Buzby’s & were good, cooked properly. I’m planning on trying the regular Fatburger & fries so I can make a review on those items but TBH, for the amount of money we spent on two burger combos, total was $34, ($19 for a regular single Impossible Burger meal) we expected better!
Please note that the relish on the burgers tastes like a Dill Relish, not a Sweet Relish as it had that burning, Dill taste to it but I may be mistaken but it tasted like Dill IMO. I don’t like Dill Relish so I’ll know to leave it...
Read moreWe decided to have lunch here on Saturday because they offer gluten free and dairy free options for my son who has allergies. He was so excited to finally be able to eat a cheeseburger out somewhere. First issue, like I said we were here on a Saturday around lunchtime and were told they had no onion rings prepped. You would think that given the day and time we were there, that they would have that in mind. I can get over that but what I can’t get passed is that we ordered my son the GF bun and cheese and he was served an ICE COLD bun like still frozen on top! We told the lady who brought it out to us and she said ok and returned about 30 seconds later and said, “There’s nothing we can do about that. It doesn’t fit in the warmer.” Ok so microwave it, put it in the sun, because anything is better than serving someone a burger on a half frozen bun! We are always so grateful to any restaurant who offers choices for our son who has these allergies. However I think if you are going to offer this, then some integrity needs to go into the product being served. I’m sure we paid more for the frozen bun and he ended up taking it off. On top of the top bun being frozen, the bottom bun was falling apart. Please find a better solution for this or tell the customer they are going to be having a frozen bun with meat on it served to them. I tried calling several times because there was never anyone else to speak to about this and no one would answer the phone. My husband and I really enjoyed our burgers but the main reason for going was for our son and that was disappointing. I don’t know if we will be back or not. The lack of customer service especially when we tried to tell someone left a really...
Read moreWe've eaten at Fatburger in another state before and since we've watched the New Braunfels location being built, we were excited to finally try it. Arrived about 8:35p the other night, yes we realized they closed at 9p but restaurant looked busy and it's fast food after all so figured we could eat quickly. Took over 20 minutes for food to arrive at our table... only one person came in after we ordered and most everyone already had their food. Food arrived cold! Would have thought with over 10 workers standing around we could have at least gotten hot fries and hot onion rings! Restaurant was very dirty, dirty tables, trash all over the floors which in desperate need of being swept although one employee was walking around with a broom. Asked to order shakes at 8:35p and was told they were "out". While waiting for our food noticed employee scooping ice cream and since their shakes are from hand dipped ice cream I didn't understand what they were out of. Asked the worker and she said she was told but her manager not to sell shakes after 8p! She then stated she got in trouble for doing that. I said well practically every table in here has a shake are you telling me they were made over an hour ago? She went and got the manager who agreed to sell us shakes. Just a few minutes 5 or so after we got our food the clean up started. 10+ employees sweeping, banging chairs around and working literally on top of us. Horrible experience, possibly an off night but can't imagine it's any different from most nights. We paid over $30 for two regular meals plus $13 for shakes, so not sure we'll give it another try. With so many employees standing around not sure it's too much to expect hot food in a...
