5 stars, but only just. Here's the breakdown: Spicy vodka pasta. Pretty delicious. They did ask if wanted extra chicken and I asked for how much it was. 10$ extra. 28$ pasta dish. Kinda pricy. (They don't communicate price extras on the menu which seems slightly misleading, I had to ask). The chicken wasn't the best I've had though. Seemed a bit dry. Pork cutlet. Pretty good, but nothing crazy. Shrimp, not my thing but decent.

Was planning for this to be a 4-star overall review but the deserts saved it. They were kinda huge and too sweet for me to eat all of it, but the first few bites were very delcious. Tiramasu, looks a little weird with the light chocolate flakes and the perfectly sized bread squares. Still really good. Pistaccio ice cream. Scrumptious, no notes notes Cream puffs really delicious as well

Some other notes: Wish they brought water refills when we ran out (I saw another review that said the same) The books are a nice addition, gives you something to distract yourself reading. The silverware...

Had to get my phone fixed so looked for a place local to the Apple store that I could get to without a phone. First stop was Tomatillo but it was more a fast food vibe and didn't exactly match what I saw online. So grateful that happened because that is how I ended up at Casanova - fanciest deviled eggs I've ever had but the real winner was the Branzino - I am a branzino fan and this was the best, most amazing melt in your mouth branzino I have ever had - butterflied and amazing - seriously a must try. As for the drinks, I am a margarita girl and had a nice spicy one though it's not on the drink menu but my server made a recommendation and I honestly regret not getting the Montalcini Mentalita from jump - very refreshing and great tasting cocktail. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone - you definitely won't regret giving this place a try - you know it had to be good if my phone is ready and I'm still on my laptop writing a review :) Andria was an AMAZING server - thanks to him I have discovered a new...

We liked the atmosphere, it was decorated simply, yet very sleek. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The cocktails were good as was the tiramisu dessert, however the meals were not loved by any of us. The pasta dishes two in my party had did not have alot of depth of flavor to them and were nothing exciting at all. I had the gnudi which I didn't like, but I will admit that I didn't know what gnudi was, assuming it was just some type of different shaped pasta when in actuality they were large balls of gnocchi-like ricotta, minus any flavor. They were so bland, as was the pesto sauce it was in. Maybe it's supposed to be that way and my fault for having different expectations. I may visit again in the future to try the pizza, which looked really good. Other than that, I likely wouldn't visit again. It's definitely not good like the...

Casanova New Haven, CT📍 This intimate spot near the shops at Yale offers delicious housemade pastas, pizzas, apps and even truffle deviled eggs! I was skeptical at first but can confirm they were worth getting! Their pizza is wood fired with a light and chewy crust, the pork chop is tender and flavorful and the caramelle pasta is tossed in a beautifully made brown butter sage and topped with crispy speck creating a beautiful harmony in each bite! Their cocktails are great and they have a wide variety to choose from. And to finish off with dessert, we tried their pistachio gelato! Have you checked this new Italian spot out yet!? #cteats #foodie #ctfoodie #ctfood #ctfoodhunters

I stumbled upon this amazing restaurant by accident and it was the best food accident I made during my trip to New Haven. The food, service, atmosphere and overall experience was amazing. If you're undecided as to where to eat a quality, fresh Italian meal in this local area, do yourself a favor and stop looking, just come to this spot. Joe, the executive Chef and owner is the kindest guy around and he loves to engage with guests and chat. I'd give the review six stars but sadly there were two women sitting next to me bothering me the entire time I was trying to eat and so I guess the security isn't great there but maybe they have to let ALL members of the community in. That being said, check it out! Bravo Chef Joe, BRAVO!
