This review has nothing to do with the quality of the store only the parking situation. So from what I understand back before Wendyâs was here and there was an auto place the right side parking was for the people who live in the brick building above the store fronts. Somewhere along the way someone made a terrible decision and decided to sell the property rights of that parking section to Wendyâs which should of never been allowed to happen due to a good amount of tenants being forced to park on a street that is knows for vehicles being swiped by drunk or just terrible drivers and broken into by junkies or iust terrible people. Iâve been here for over 5 years and this wendys doesnât get enough customers to need all those parking spots. The first 4.5 years tenants parked in the right side of Wendyâs with absolutely no problem until what Iâm guessing was 1-2 Wendyâs customers complained and Wendyâs corporate had someone come out and put signs up stating cars would be towed and tenants had to park on Whalley Ave which might be the worst main road in New Haven. 4.5 years never had my car broken into or hit, the first month of being pushed to the street my window has been broken 2 times $260 to fix each time and one of my car was swiped and totaled by someone who was never found. Not just me my wifeâs window broken thereâs another $260 and her car totaled due to cars parking on the side of the road blocking the exit view leaving Wendyâs drive through (cars shouldnât be allowed to park there but they do) thatâs the cityâs fault though. Not just us 5! Tenants cars windows broken and vandalism back to back in the same WEEK! All because we have to park on an unlit street where junkies are free to hide in the night. I put cameras up and Iâm literally exhausted at work because Iâm up all night watching the camera every time a camera notification hits my phone and itâs Whalley Ave so thatâs a notification almost every time a car goes by but I have to check it because Iâm tired of paying and paying and paying and paying every time my car is broken into or hit. Iâve spend more money on windows then that Wendyâs makes a month Iâm kidding obviously but Iâm sick of it 110% of Wendyâs customers are drive through itâs a terrible street no one wants to park their car and sit down to eat there even if they wanted to thereâs like 3 seats inside. The least Wendyâs can do it mark the right side as public parking and the left side as total customer parking. Or sell that section of property back to the building where it should other left, someone was definitely smoking something when they sold the rights to the building parking to (Wendyâs) like seriously!? Our safety and peace of mind got sold off to WENDYS?! Thatâs pathetic. Not just out safety and peace of mind but out RIGHT TO PARK THERE WAS SOLD OFF itâs a huge building with a ton of tenants your going to treat us like garbage and sell our parking lot the people who pay rent and make you rich thatâs insane to me. Thatâs just how the world is I guess the rich want more money and will sell our parking lot for a tiny chunk of change, what do they care there cars are in gated communities probably where there isnât a junkie for 20 miles . Honestly if the parking was still ok and didnât have to worry about the cars every single night living here would be ok but I doubt anyone will stick up for the tenants anytime soon so Iâm looking for a better place to live. But if my car gets broken into or hit one more time Iâm going to make my anger felt on the next...
Read moreThis is the second time my husband and I stopped at this location this week. After late nights packing and moving we wanted something easy, open late, tasty, fast, and why not affordable. Well, open late â Tasty â Affordable halfâ
The first night we stood at the counter for a good 1-2 minutes without being acknowledged. Staff scurried about serving folks at the drive thru. The counter clerk, we come to find out was not on break. He sat in a side room with a clear visual of us and the register we stood in front of. He played on his phone until he slowly shuffled his way over to us. He barely kicked out the words that sounded similar to, "May I take your order?". It took an age, but we got what we ordered and exhausted we made our way to the moving truck to eat. It is more pleasant to eat off your lap in a gross rental truck than that dining room. The next night, similar I-could-give-a-caca-less attitude from clerk Richard. I stood there for a while as he gave a neighboring colleague no help or empathy when she politely introduced herself and asked if they could to ld spare small bill change. Apparently, in addition they couldn't since the system shuts down without notice and reboots taking around 20 minutes. I asked nicely what was happening and how oong, more, would it be about until I could order. With the enthusiasm of a wet towel he said he didn't know. Apparently he didn't care either. I said thanks and walked out. I intended to just find another food spot or just forget it and find a pillow and crash. My husband was napping in the truck. Well he wanted Wendy's. So, we waited another 30 my minutes. When I went inside to irder, Richard, has just ordered himself an employee meal. Asiago spicy chicken sandwich was ordered and would be on the shelf waiting for him in probably 5 minutes. I ordered 1 meal and paid. I decided to get a second order with this Asiago chicken sandwich. I did ask Richard if he tried it, he said he did and recommended ordering it. Well, just as I was handing him cash the register decided to once again auto reboot. You guessed it! The second meal didn't go though and it would not go through until he re-entered the order in about 20 more minutes. AGAIN!!!??? I asked if he could compensate me with a meal gratis or something. He silently walked away.
What is with people??? For...
Read moreThere is absolutely no reason everyday the drive thru line should be around the building and inti the main street... No reason customer service is extremely absurd and rude. No reason for this place to stay open there are better options.
If you deliver uber the wait time will be no less than 15 minutes in line burning gas. They make no effort to speed this along only think of excuses as to why it should take so long with being short staffed and covid being the two favorite choices.
Its been 2 years the fast food industry should have made efforts to rescale and prioritize service as to actually make it fast food again. Many places just like this restaurant choose to keep wages low or offer better wages but little hours keeping themselves from being able to staff appropriately. Just give proper wages and hours so you can actually get workers on staff at all times! Nobody wants to work for pennies or work two jobs jist to get enough hours to get by because companies don't want to pay the required medical for having FULL time workers. All they offer is part time hours and part time pay leaving customers to suffer. Management here IS PURE TRASH.
I will adjust my review when I see changes until then good luck...
As for the franchise owner and store management... My review is not to be malicious, demeaning nor to cause yiu hardship... But when complaints fall on deaf ears and then staff make light of the situation its very disheartening. Maybe having your store reviewed by the highest rated reviewer in the city will help push...
