I brought my family here today for the buffet for my birthday lunch. I told them it was my favorite pizza, but I had never been to this location. It was just awful and one of the few times in my life that I left a buffet while still hungry.
The buffet was too tiny for the amount of people inside. They had maybe 3-4 pizzas at any given time and over 25 people inside.Every pizza on the buffet was a weird combination pizza too with a few toppings on them(and a lot of the toppings at that - which was cool). We had a couple young children with us that didn't want to eat anything they were putting out. When we asked the girl if we could get an all cheese or just all pepperoni pizza she said for the buffet "They just make whatever they want in the back. You can always order a pizza and we can make it."
She wanted us to order a $14 pizza after paying for the buffets because they couldn't just make a cheese pizza for the buffet for everyone to enjoy. Granted if the kids didn't want to eat what was out their parents could have ordered them their own pizza instead of paying for the buffet, but we assumed they weren't going to bring out super weird pizzas the whole time. What's wrong with throwing a few simple pizzas out to show off how good your pizza is?
Also none of the pizzas they put out were even cut. You had to sit there and hack away at it with the pizza scooper. Felt like trying to use a 2 bobby pins to cut apart a freakin merry-go-round. There were so many bubbles in the pizza too. Like a quarter of every single pizza they brought out was just a dough bubble. The other patrons would just immediately swarm the pizza and leave those pieces. If those pieces were spartan boys they would have been thrown off the cliffs instantly .With how bad the 2 girls working the register's attitudes were it really wouldn't surprise me if everyone inside was just having an extremely awful day or something.
Village pizza has great crust, sauce, and cheese, but they masked it behind so much green chile that I was watching people in the dining room scrape the toppings off their pizza. It seems like a waste but there literally wasn't enough food out to even feed everyone so they were just trying to make due.
Most of my family left early just because they didn't want to keep waiting on the food and fighting with other customers for it. I eventually got tired of eating the same cheeseburger pizza leftovers while waiting on a pizza that I actually enjoyed that I finally left too.
I cannot even recommend the non buffet aspect of this establishment because of the quality of the pizzas...
Read moreCalled in an order 40 minutes ahead of time since it was a Saturday. The young man who had taken my order by phone may have been new by his lack of phone skills, but I remained patient and polite. I arrived at the location and there was no order in my name or phone number, (which I had given both.) Based on my call log, I know I had placed my order at the correct location. The young lady searched the computer and kitchen and asked if she could still expedite my order. Ok, no problem. My husband and I will enjoy a cider outside on the patio.
Shortly later, I noticed all of the other tables had order numbers and we were not given one so my husband went inside to make sure they knew where we were. Oh great. Our order is up, but they wouldn't give it to him. Ok, no problem. They at least know where we are. Almost 10 minutes later, I am still not given the food and can see it sitting on the counter from where I am on the patio. Finally I see the server as she approaches to ask if we want refills as she points to the empty soda cups. (We had sat at a dirty table and just over everything over) We told her we were just waiting for our food and that pile of dishes were from a previous customer. "Oh yeah. It just came up," referring to our food, which we knew had been on the counter, ready. She brings us our food and then says she will be right back with plates and napkins. She never comes back. Once she finally does, she does not have plates and napkins and goes to the table next to us which we learn is her family. She does not even check in on us, and passes us by as we try to get her attention. Ok, no problem. We will clean up the fallen toppings from the table once we leave. We are starving. The pizza was supposed to be the small gluten free veggie, and I have my doubts about the gluten free part. My husband got sick immediately and needed to leave because of it. He has a severe gluten allergy, and come all the way from the east mountains to get a yummy gluten free pizza. There were even parts of the dough that were not cooked through. We asked for our wings to be crispy, even if they needed to be cooked longer and they still came out soggy, even with the sauce on the side.
I still thanked the busser for checking in on us, and bringing a refill on our cider and left tip for both. I thank them for working during a time when others may be choosing to stay unemployed and collect ui. I know how the industry is. I too am in it. I know mistakes happen, but this whole experience was one disappointment...
