We had an incredibly bad experience here. I can't believe this place is in business with such unprofessional, alarming behavior- especially considering there are MUCH better options within close proximity.
My boyfriend and I missed a (small, hastily-made, not well placed) sign that said something about not sitting down at an outside table until seeing a bartender. Well, since we missed it, we started to sit down at an outside table and were immediately YELLED at by a waitress/hostess. She came out of nowhere with an attitude and just started laying into us. We were confused and tried to explain ourselves/apologize for missing the sign, but she kept cutting us off and smacked the sign with her hand a few times and continued to berate us. We decided just to go at that point and she KEPT yelling at us- even sarcastically screaming that she "appreciated it" as we walked away from her 😳
Unfortunately, we had to turn around and walk back by to get to a different bar. The same waitress/hostess was still loudly talking about us to her coworkers. It felt very purposeful- like she saw us and WANTED us to hear her. At this point, I just could not believe how we were being treated and got so upset that I verbally let her know what I thought of her ridiculous behavior. She then proceeded to COME AT ME. Like ran down the sidewalk towards me, screaming and trying to start a fight with me.
And all of this while on the clock! Like girl. Seriously? WHAT. ARE. YOU. DOING?!
If she had just made us aware of the sign/bar rule without being abrasive and mean, absolutely nothing would have happened. We probably would have just gone inside and gotten a drink 🤷🏼♀️
I don't expect a lot, especially from a dive bar, but I do expect basic human decency. I don't care who you are or what kind of day you're having- you can still be generally kind to others.
So, just be very careful if you go! Take friends that will have your back in a scary situation... Or alternatively, just go one more block down to Saint X Brewery! They...
Read moreBEWARE! Got my phone stolen at this bar. The girl that I met who ended up taking it had insisted on coming here all night, so finally we did. Instead of helping (they clearly knew the girl) they started trash talking, told me to get out and threatened to call the police. And by "they," I am talking about both the bartender and owner. I told them I would appreciate that, and they realized it would not be in their best interest and chose to just ignore my presence. So I was left to wander the streets of New Orleans in the middle of the night for 2 hours until I finally made it back to my hotel. I don't know if they were complicit or just protecting their friend, but since technically I can't prove they did anything illegal I can't press charges. At least I found out who their friend is. All I can do to them is leave this...
Read moreOverpriced and the male older bartender is creepy and rude. There was only one other customer in when we got there and the place looked dead. We got terrible service, the bartender acted like we’re bothering him but were staying to finish our drinks. Few minutes later more people came in and started ordering and having fun and all of the sudden the bartender got mad and kicked everyone out. Me and my husband were sitting in a corner away from the rest and weren’t sure what was going on so the bartender very rudely waved to us saying the bar is closed, get out… Do yourself a favor and go get your...
