First coffee shop we stopped at for our day in new york and it was sub par! It was also raining and we kind of searched up whatever was available and looked cute. It's also a part of a hotel, so you could sit in a small cafe part or the lobby area that's also an open restaurant/bar? There was at least 4-5 people working on the floor yet no service at all. The guy manning the coffee area was fine, but was definitely taking his time making orders, I know it's not a Starbucks and you don't need to rush, but the wait and line started to build. It could be that another person should just be helping. He did leave for the bathroom and he asked someone to cover, and a girl went over to the counter waited and then left, and while they both were gone, a line started to assemble and the guy apologized and said sorry i thought someone was covering me. A tranquil and sensual space such a Paper Coffee exist in different corners and different parts of the city, but one often has to dash through the restless traffic, olfactory confusion a mix of trash, of rotten rags, commercial laundry detergent and expensive eau de toilettes, and of course, in this part of the town, the crowd that seems to go from zero to 100 real fast.

Paper Coffee is a lovely coffee nook in the hotel lobby. You can take your coffee to go, or have it in the beautiful curated lobby space oozing a mid-modern aesthetic. Nice seating area, very intimate, comfortable and sensual. It is swallowed by the grounding wood tone. And through a glass patio/stairway, you can get a glimpse of lively greenery on the backdrop of a gunpowder slate.
