125th Street Pizza of Harlem ™ — Restaurant in New York

This lil' italian throwback pizza shop is BIG on FLAVOR and COMMUNITY FEEL.... open in 1937 and still going strong..very strong... I had pizza and I had pasta (alfredo) it was both so tasty. Pasta made in pizza oven ... baked to perfection.. the owner is awesome. Tom came out to say hello . I cant wait to go back. It's a definite item winning destination.. small but great... located off the corner of 2nd avenue you can't miss it.... I discovered this spot while going with my friend so he can paint the gate of the store next door.. and hitting up this pizza shop was a bonus to the days events.. heading back there soon..real soon.. as in...

Sorry, it wasn't even worth the 1 star I have given this. I see the other reviews with more than the 1 star, and really needed to add this. The crust tasted like water. Cheese is normally a bit salty by nature, theirs was tasteless. The sauce was essentially watered down ketchup. I went here because I saw the other 1 star review and had to give it a shot. I would not to back, only to share what I know as "misery...

Proper pizza joint, great NY style, suggestion for this place came from Pequods in Chicago. Great flavor, handmade dough, the whole 9.

Solo owner is a hero… gives kids a chance to earn a pizza with a book report and an oral presentation. Tips go for art supplies for kids at the cancer hospital. Outrageous.
