Favor Harlem African braiding salon (Ask for favor the braider) — Local services in New York

I had an appointment for 1PM, I came and she was obviously busy. But asked if I could wait about 30 minutes fine. I waited the 30 minutes, nothing, 45 again nothing. I go to check and she is STILL working. Why say come at 1 if you aren’t ready when I come? Then I left because I don’t do that, but my hair dresser (such a gem) suggested I try to give her another chance, so I came back because at that point it had been about and hour after and she said she can take me. I go back, and again everyone is busy, she tries to walk me to someone else but they can’t accommodate me. Absolutely unprofessional, these are just the basics of running a business, you have to respect people’s time. I show up on time to my appointment, washed, blow dried and ready to go. I had an issue where someone else did my hair and it was not a good experience. The parts were inconsistent as well as too much hair used on each braid, causing it to hurt all over and pull on/out my natural hair around the edges. I did get to go back and Favor did my hair over for me and it is really nice and MUCH better than the first time. The parts look great, they don’t hurt and a reasonable amount of extension connected on each braid. Beautifull job! I did get a different style this time, but I believe even if I got the same style Favor would have done a great job. Favor is simply AMAZING! I have been struggling to find a someone to braid my hair that I feel cares about their craft - also because I like multi-colors in my hair it is also a huge concern if the person braiding my hair “gets it” in terms of the look that I want …with just one look at the picture I showed her, and her asking me about length; she saw the colors of the hair and made her magic!
