Gotta do it, I am pulling my postive review, and going to explain why.
I went in this morning and the counter person, was not there.
I was pretty much ignored, until the 2 people behind the counter, finished.
Now being that I have been coming here, when the last of the dinosours, walked the earth, it was a shock, that I had to wait to be served.
After what seemed like a life time, I was asked if I needed help?
Yes I said, can you please give me a small cup of coffe, said I.
I then paid for my order, after getting my order, and just wanting to take in the morning, coffee, I was met with are you waiting on anything else.
When I said no, I was met with ok, get out., not what was said out loud, but was ok.
I tried to explain, that I grew up across the street, I guess that the owner, could have cared less after I explained that My name is Chef Eddie Santiago, and I put this place on the map.
So with that said.
Take your money someplace else.
You can get a better bagel in the frozen section, of your local supermarket.
All I can say is Peeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuu.
Hey folks if you like my review please hit the like link.
Update.
Found out the today, that the owner counts touches the tip jar.
That is a major NO-NO.
That is highly against the law.
I am highly given this place a minus 0.
Please go some where else.
The tips are for the workers, no one should touch it except the workers.
All I can say is WOW.
Just saw owner stealing tips.
Thats a No-No.
As of Today if your going to tip the workers for the wonderful service that they provide, please put, the tip money in thier hand and not the tip jar.
Stealing your workers tips, is as low as playing handball with a cockeroaches nuts against the curb.
Someone needs to call the IRS on all of this untaxed stolen money, from the employee tips.

Read moreI've FINALLY found a good place for breakfast in the neighborhood.
Just found this great bagel shop because I was using the parking garage in the same building. It's spacious AND most importantly CLEAN! - LoL
My company just relocated from midtown up to East 124th St. a couple of weeks back & I've been miserable because up till now because the only safe breakfast option has been the MickeyD's on 125th & Lex. . . . everything else has been sketchy bodega deli sandwiches & a greasy burger place that cooks breakfast as well. I was not a happy camper!
But now I know I just need to go 2 blocks further east to find a decent spot for breakfast & lunch. They do sandwiches, burgers, & salads as well so it's more than just a bagel shop.
Looking forward to trying them for lunch now . . . I think they've found a new "regular"!
PS - and if you're commuting by car via the Triboro (notice I didn't call it the "RFK" ;) ) it's right on the corner of 124th on Second Avenue as soon as you get off the bridge & turn south . ....
Read more“Bagel Tree” is generally overpriced. But on top of this, they will add hidden charges and not tell you. The food is also a hit or miss, and their “Turkey and Cheese omelette”, had maybe 1/2 a slice of chopped up Turkey in it.
On top of all this they are rude, and when I inquired about an additional charge (1.50 extra for half and half in my latte) and why it’s not posted anywhere or they wouldn’t tell me prior to ordering it, the cashier gave a snarky and rude response.
I go to bagel tree from time to time since it’s close to my office, knowing and accepting it’s ridiculously priced menu. But I will NEVER go there again, and am recommending my co-workers never visit either.
My recommendation would be the deli on the corner or Tropical if you’re in the mood for Tres Golpes (side note- “Tropical” has the BEST coffee)
You will not only be treated better but will also save a bunch of money in either of the other two establishments on...
