Ordering and paying was a simple process and was very quick. I had to go in and wait outside due to the inside of the actual place being small. I ordered the classic chicken sandwich combo.
Waiting for the food took around 25-30 min, as I believe all food is made as soon as you ordered it, which is great, in my opinion.
They also have some nice brand packaging too.
As for the actual food, in my opinion it was good overall, with some very minor things I didn't like.
The chicken sandwich tastes great, for me. The chicken in the sandwich was crispy on some side, and not crispy on the others. However, this is most likely due to the fact that I didn't eat it right away. So I do not blame them for this. Overall though, I did like the chicken sandwich.
As for the fries, a little less than half of the fries were brown or dark brown, to the point where you can taste that they are. The fries weren't crispy for me, but, that is again most likely due to the fact that I didn't eat it right away, so they are not to blame for this. Overall, the taste of the fries were good.
In regard to price, it was a little on the expensive side for me.
The fact that they're meat is halal is a plus too, as I have a friend that eats nothing but halal meat.
The food was also properly prepared, as I didn't get any type of stomach sickness after eating.
Overall, a great place to grab some food...
Read moreMy mom and I ended up checking out this place after seeing them pop up in our Facebook feed. There was a video featuring their Sundae. So I looked them up, checked out their menu and knew we had to go! It was an easy walk from the tenement Museum, which is what brought us to this part of town.
We decided to try the Swedish Meatball Poutine because - 1. I've never had Swedish Meatballs and 2. I've never seen such a thing on a menu. The Fries came covered with the meatballs and gravy, cheese curds and a dallop on jam on the side. It had the perfect amount of sweetness to balance the Salty fries and creamy gravy. What fun!
Of course we had the Sundae for dessert. This part was my mom's favorite. This Sundae feature their Vanilla soft serve with honey and potato chips. Their soft serve is icy, just the way my mom likes it. And while the honey that is drizzled on top was a little too sweet for my tastes, I totally loved the texture that the potato chips added - some crunchy and some soggy from soaking up the ice cream!
I would totally go back to this place again because the people were friendly and I love me some French fries covered with cheese, gravy, meat - you know, all that good stuff. Just a heads up that this is a tiny place and could potentially be very crowded. We grabbed one of the six bar stools for ourselves no problem on a weekday afternoon before...
Read moreWorst management ever and customer service. Charged me for someone else’s meal and when I called to inform management of my experience and that I was over charged they did absolutely nothing to help me and blatantly showed no regard. I visited this place for the first time just a few days ago on a busy night, ordered and made a payment for my order. After standing there for 5 mins waiting for my food a woman called me to the front and stated for me to insert my card and that my food was ready. I didn’t think much of it and inserted my card again assuming my first swipe didn’t go through. I again explained to manager that I only ordered boneless chicken and walked out with only that so why was I charged for food I never received. I even told him to look at the camera and he can see I literally walked out with only one order of boneless chicken and two bottles of water. Again he refused to do anything and basically stated that it is my fault for swiping my card twice. I had already made a payment I just assumed that my card didn’t process the first time. I NEVER placed a second order. The fact of the matter is that I only walked out with an order of boneless chicken bites and two bottles of water but was still charged an extra amount. I’m highly disappointed with the service that was provided and wouldn’t recommend this...
