So it’s been ages since I have to leave a negative review on a restaurant, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth.Service was horrible from beginning to end we got seated for our reservations and it took 25 minutes for us to even see our waitress. We had to speak to the host and ask if our waitress could come take our orders. After placing orders, It took another 20 minutes just for our drinks to come as we sat there and watched them continue to accept walk-ins and a gentleman came in after us was sitting at the bar, received his drinks, almost 3 minutes after sitting down and receive his meal 15 minutes after. It took over an hour after we placed our order to receive our food. We asked to seek speak to the manager Connor, and it took the Manager another 20 minutes just to come to our table with the food which was cold by the way he explained that he only had two cooks working and that he apologized and offered a discount, but he didn’t seem to care much about the service or experience of the customer it was a “it is what it is” kind of response. The waitress wasn’t friendly. She didn’t smile she didn’t apologize. She didn't engage or repeat or even acknowledge our order, She didn’t check in on us at any point of our time, we literally had to go to her and chase her down she appeared to be overworked and discontent with her job overall. Horrible experience will not be returning back here or recommending to anyone. Also sidenote if you’re unable to cater to the people who have made reservations, why would you continue to accept walk-ins when that just reduces the quality of service that you are offering we created reservations in advance for this specific reason and to have to deal with subpar service and end up with a bad experience was not what I for...
Read moreCame to Avenida to get some birthday brunch today since I’ve been here before and had a good time. I walked in and went to the rooftop. I asked for a table for 2 in which a nice guy (not sure his position) motioned yes and then I asked if I could sit in the booth because I had my bags and it was chilly outside and the booths were in the sun. Before he could respond, the waitress walked up and responded saying booths were for groups of 4. I was slightly annoyed but understood and proceeded to sit at a high top for 2. I had my large purse and a tote with me. I asked her if she had a hook and she said no, not for that table. So because I was sitting at a high top directly beside the booth for 4, I hung my purse from the post of the booth and placed my tote on the seat of the booth. Meanwhile, the waitress walked over to, who I assume, is the manager. It was pretty evident that she was talking to him about me and what made it worse was that then they also started laughing at me (manager made it pretty obvious when he was looking over at me, you’d have to be oblivious to not be able to tell). Shortly after the manager walked away and the waitress brought out “reserved” signs and placed them on all 4 empty booths while bringing me over a stool (the type without a back) for me to put my purse on, which even she knows would be impossible because they would have just fallen off. I said it was okay and that my bags were fine where they were and she proceeded to now say “we have a reservation”. Please bear in mind that this place was empty both downstairs and on the rooftop and there was 4 empty booths, not just 1. In total, there was maybe 6 people sitting among the tables and 5 at the bar on the rooftop and same goes...
Read moreLet me start off by saying: take all reviews with your own discernment, as everyone’s experience can be different.
I was excited to try this place after a recommendation from my sister. We went on a Sunday, and although I had requested rooftop seating through Resy, our reservation was switched to the main floor. Just so you know, the rooftop is where most of the action takes place, so if you’re looking for more of a lively vibe, that’s definitely the spot to be.
For food, I ordered the steak and eggs with home fries. The steak, cooked medium, was the highlight of the entire meal—flavorful and cooked perfectly.
As for the bottomless brunch, I’m still new to the brunch scene and expected pitchers of drinks to be placed at the table, but here it’s served in individual glasses. This makes it a little harder to really take advantage of the 90-minute window. That said, I appreciated that the servers let you know when you’re down to your last few minutes (about 3–5 minutes left). Service overall was attentive—three different staff members checked in on my table throughout the meal. Though, we were originally served by one guy whose name I didn’t get a chance to catch. I don’t know if this restaurant‘s standard practice is to have multiple people serving one table on main floor.
I guess we could have asked for a clarity on that.
Additionally, the water glasses were not washed properly. There was lipstick stains from a previous patron on both glasses. It was replaced quickly but I didn’t hear what the server said once he was made...
