Very nice space, pleasant atmosphere, quiet - you can actually hear each other talk! We were greeted warmly and seated right away (we had a reservation, but it wasn’t very crowded). Took a while to get menus and place our order, we went with our servers recommendation: two appetizers and two entrees for there people.
It took a LONG time for our appetizers to arrive, one at a time, not together. And seems they spaced out on our drinks, we had to remind them. The mango, avocado salad was pretty good, we also enjoyed the salt and pepper squid. Portions were a little on the small side.
After another LONG wait, our entrees came: Goong Prik Kula, a sea food dish and Nam Tok, Thai grilled steak. Both were tasty, but not amazing and the portions were disappointingly small (smaller than the photos on the website), especially the steak. The seafood dish consisted of two very large Tiger shrimp, which were hard to eat with the shells on, we hard to ask for knives, also a few pieces of sautéed squid and one (1) scallop. It wasn’t bad, but a little underwhelming. We later realized they did not serve with the dipping sauce mentioned on the menu. Oh well.
In the end we were unceremoniously brought the check, weren’t asked if we wanted dessert (there’s one item on the menu).
Overall, we did not get the impression of a well-run restaurant. Maybe it was an off night, perhaps they were down one waiter or someone missing in the kitchen?
It’s said the devil is in the details - and they did not get them right on this night. In such a competitive environment, I fear they won’t be around long unless they can do better, which would be a shame because the food was good and it’s...
Read more🌟 5-Star Review for Aves Restaurant – A Magical Birthday Experience! 🌟
We hosted my sister’s private birthday dinner at Aves, and I can honestly say it was flawless from start to finish.
The moment we walked into our private dining area, we were stunned by how elegantly and thoughtfully everything had been prepared. The team at Aves truly went above and beyond — from the sophisticated lighting and cozy ambiance to the gorgeous floral centerpieces, delicate swan-folded napkins, and “Happy Birthday” balloons that added a festive yet tasteful touch.
The setup was simply stunning — deep red roses, soft white blooms, and butterfly accents arranged in stylish vases created a celebratory atmosphere that was both intimate and upscale. The attention to detail — even down to the fine cutlery, wine service, and cake presentation — made us feel like VIPs.
Service was warm, professional, and seamless. One of the staff members (pictured) was especially kind and attentive, ensuring everything went smoothly. The food? Absolutely delicious. From refreshing appetizers and colorful entrees to the beautifully plated desserts (the pear and charcoal dome were a hit!), every dish was prepared and presented with love.
Seeing my sister’s smile throughout the evening was priceless. She felt celebrated, special, and surrounded by joy — and that was all thanks to the care and effort Aves put into this event.
Thank you to the entire team for making this birthday unforgettable. We will definitely be returning — and recommending Aves to...
Read moreOn a positive note this place is beautiful. For that alone, I really wanted to like it. I don’t write bad reviews lightly, especially for restaurants in my neighborhood. I want them to succeed. But this place is simply awful and I’m honestly bewildered how it got so many positive reviews.
We didn’t finish the food, paid, and went to get food elsewhere. That’s something I’ve never ever done before at any restaurant in my life.
We arrived right on time for our reservation but had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Not a big deal, but we got off to a suboptimal start. It took another 10 minutes for us to flag down a waiter to get our order in. We ordered steak and shrimp. 15 minutes after that we were informed that they were "all out of beef". At this point we had been in the restaurant for over half an hour and had to reorder one of our entrees. We ordered a kung pao chicken.
The shrimp arrived 10 minutes later, the kung pao chicken five minutes after that. After all that they can’t even get the two entrees out at the same time?
Despite everything I really wanted to like the food. But no luck. The shrimp was terribly overcooked and under-seasoned. The kung pao chicken was essentially just chicken in soy sauce, very salty with no zero other seasoning. The rice was completely unseasoned. The food was so bad it was honestly hard to believe.
Im sure we caught them on a bad night and they can do better. But no decent restaurant should ever give anybody the experience we had or serve the fold we...
